Hello, I am Kelly and I live in Melbourne, Australia.

My husband is into his 2nd week of chemo and radiotherapy treatment for oesophagus cancer. He has a Barretts Oesophagus with a tumour that is diagnosed as adenocarcinoma. One lymph node near the tumour is affected too.

The treatment plan is 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy with 1 day chemotherapy included. Followed with 6 weeks to recover before a major surgery.

Historically, he has always have a low platelet count. Today test showed the count (115,000) has gone down by 10,000. Was told that the platelet count must not go below 92,000! Hope platelets remain stable. He is also finding it a little harder to swallow too.

I am from the States and was diagnosed at one of the bigger hospital with Barrett's disease. Then in was sent to their bigger hospital (Mayo) and the provider there never did the testing like the other one did. That was the purpose of me going there is to have the scope done but he just looked at the pictures sent and just said nope don't have it. I called the other hospital and they got me in right away to see them and the provider there said she even took a sample and it was tested as Barrett's. She was stunned. So on the advice of the second provider they cut me loose. I have burning pain throughout my throat, chest, stomach and now into my groin area. I take prevacid because my personal provider said she wasnt taking any chances of me "not" having it. I've have been looking for a place to do a second opinion. But with the virus it doesn't do any good to do a virtual visit. I need to have a hands on visit for this. So I may be out if luck.

Hello, my name is Jane, I’m from Scotland, and very recently I underwent another throat scan, which unfortunately has found and removed 6 polyps. I have never smoked, so that’s a good thing, but unfortunately I lost 2 brothers and my dad to throat cancer. I was told my throat is extremely red looking, and the cause could be my anti inflammatory tablets that I’ve been on for years due to osteoarthritis and various other things. I was told it can take 2 or more months for the results, so just have to try and put it in the back of my mind, which is easier said than done. Also, I have a strange thing going on, which I don’t know if anyone else experiences, hiccups, a lot of boughs of them, and mostly at night, so any advice on this would be appreciated. Take care and stay safe and well as you can.
