Unfortunately the fluoxetine will probably never “cure” the OCD. It can make things a bit better as far as anxiety and thoughts relating to your OCD. I have been on fluoxetine 80 mg for a very long time and my OCD never goes away- it just isn’t as intense with the medication. You will probably have to learn some ways of coping through behavior therapy.
Thanks very much for replying and yea it’s true it never goes even with fluoxetine. Actually this medicine is just a experimental research for ocd patients it’s not a actual medicine for ocd . I am wondering that world has excellent medical science but it seems reluctant to find a medicine for ocd or they are still not able to find medicine for it whereas even i asked many psychiatrists that how its starts and even doctors don’t have a exact answer for it,they just say researchers say it happens because of serotonin imbalance in brain but the truth is even researchers are still don’t the exact reason behind ocd
I have found ERP, Exercise, and OCD group participation to be the best things for OCD. Also excepting that I have OCD and that it’s something I live with has helped. It’s like having an annoying roommate who leaves dishes in the sink, you can get upset but then tell yourself well that’s not me who left the messy dishes it’s my ocd.
