Can anyone recommend a good therapist/psychologist in the North East of England...

I'm afraid I can't, as I'm not in the North East! But ask your GP for a referral to a Community Mental Health Team and they should sort out a therapist for you.

It's a bit of a lottery as to whether you get one you personally get on with, but at least you can be assured that the therapists are fully accredited and properly trained and qualified. This isn't always the case in the private sector, so if you go private bear this in mind.
