Doe anyone else suffer with tummy problems with their OCD!? And what do you do to try and get a break from it, mines seems to be in a constant knot, and with all my will power I'm saying it's just the anxiety!!
When I'm bad I only eat things that are light, and I keep stimulating foods to a minimum!!

I can't say that has been my problem, and I manage to eat pretty well, although I admit that my stomach muscles are pretty tense.
Having said that, when OCD really started to incapacitate me, when I was 21, I lost my appetite almost completely. My mother bought me nice fruit, nice biscuits and ice cream and for quite a while it was all I managed to force down.
I have the constant knot, so I know how it feels, although I still manage to stuff myself. Make sure you keep up your nutrition, if you don't feel much up to food, and perhaps take a multi-vitamin.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. I'll look into a multi vitamin. I do have binges now and then, and I know that's bad too. I'll find a balance, one day 😁 I'm just unsure if it's anxiety that's giving me a sore tummy or food, but I'm getting tested, for food intolerances, but I've always suffered with the auld stomach troubles. I had a aunty who passed away with stomach cancer, and I know that one has been in my mind since I was a child, so again, it's finding the balance between doing the right thing, and not letting the intrusive thoughts convince me...... Oh the lovely web I spin for myself, you know what, I'm glad I've shared that one about my Aunty, that one has haunted me for years!!!
I did think there might be a health worry there, but didn't like to say unless you told me. The food intolerance is one to check out: I don't have any but my sister feels quite ill and has a painful stomach if she has milk, though she can tolerate cream, butter and yogurt. Having problems with your nerves can certainly upset the stomach.
Apparently it's to do with the lactose levels, which aren't high enough in butter and cream to cause problems.
It might be worth checking out your intolerances as that's a very restricted diet you're on. A lot of people claim to have gluten intolerance in particular, though it is really relatively rare. Sourdough bread is, I think, more easily digested so perhaps try that. It's in the nature of OCD to try to restrict what you do.
Yeah, I'm having my eyes opened!! I've also noticed other things I do!!! It's quite spooky, I thought I was just dealing with the intrusive thoughts, I've noticed I have a thing for time, germs and confession, and I do other things also each day, that I have to do to have a okay day!!! I'm starting to see the bigger picture for me!!!
No wonder I feel exhausted!!
I'm having one of them days where the penny has finally dropped.
Absolutely yes. It's not severe, but hard to separate it because so many feelings are experienced in the stomach. I get IBS type symptoms when I am stressed so a lot goes on in my tummy as well as in my head!
