I started Clomipramine last night. It had the desired effect of drowsiness, so I was actually asleep before midnight for a change. Unfortunately I woke up earlier than anticipated feeling very nauseous, and did throw up a lot. I know the nausea will pass as the medicine starts to work, but I was a little shocked.

I’ve been on clomipramine since April & yea the side effects are not very nice, spesh I find personally when the dose is put up but the benefits far outweigh the negatives. I feel so much better on it plus my physotics. Hang in there & let the side effects pass, you can do this 💪🏻

I'm no longer on clomipramine, having been on sertraline for more than ten years, but before that I took clomipramine for more than twenty-five years.

I found the main side effect was drowsiness. I felt drowsy constantly, occasionally even falling asleep at my desk at work! But I got used to it, and it suited me for quite a while. Better drowsy than have the OCD symptoms in full force!

I didn't have the nausea, and side effects do alter from one patient to another. I hope this passes off, and you begin to feel the beneficial effects. Clomipramine is one of the older medications, and was hailed as a wonder drug when it first came out, and I am assuming that you are on it because SSRIs haven't worked well with you. That is the usual reason for being prescribed it.
