Hi

there is no need to worry about medication - SSRIs as antidepressants and antianxiety meds like Xanax or Lorazepam have been around for years and are very safe. Its ok to change one med for another, but check with your doctor first, with some you need a break from the old med before you start a new one.

Try not to have ruminations about it, let go of intrusive thoughts or negative ideas else you end up in a loop that s more difficult to treat. You really need to just let go, the anxiety should gradually subside.

HOpe you can do some of this.

Take care

HI Pinkstar

well you have no choice, you need to start somewhere, even if you do it gradually - are you taking both meds , antidepresssants and antianxiety?

You need to program yourself with something easy - something that your brain can accept as a 'ok rumination', even if its not perfect as antidote to the negative thoughts. You can try this method and see how you go - dont go for perfection, that you can do later. when you are more in control.

Try to concentrate on your OCD, on your phobias and dont pay attantion to medications - you take it because it makes you feel better, if not change medication. mp.s. are you seen a therapist ?

Gradually you should regain more control over your thinking, but you have got to start. Little steps at a time and you can go a long way.

Best

Hi,

Thank you for replying to me. Best part is I have been on meds (same one) for years it's just got into my head that they are making me anxious, doesn't make sense I know. I can't take anti anxiety meds as. The moment I take them I have a panic attack, wondering what they are doing to me etc etc , so the very thing that could probably help is making me worse due to my head x

*HI pinkstar - youm mean you take antidepressants only? they act as antianxiety medication too, but I always felt it was s better to have a specific antianxiety medication like Xanax , it comes in a extented release format lastin 18-22 hours and Lorazepam, of which there is a version just for panic attacks - comes in a capsule that dissolves rapidly. It works.

all the best

Max
