Hi I had a new knee in April 2019 and was given Oramorph for the pain as was already on other pain meds for fibro, was doing really well getting on walking without any aids till August when I over did the exercising and my other knee went so back on crutches, like you had it drained and injected never made a difference so had it done under scan and again no difference, when my Consultant phoned me to see how I was getting on he actually said that the injections really work and only last for a short time I go and see him next month to see what he suggests. You need to go back and see them again and see what they will do this time round Love & Hugs Xx

Hi Horseman,

You're certainly not alone with your knee pain, or your miracle.

From 2011 upto earlier this year, I've gone from walking, to using a cane, severely limited to how far I could go on crutches and then a wheelchair. Living in Wales, everywhere is either a grass hill or a concrete one, and having damaged shoulders certainly didn't make using a wheelchair any easier. I've gone through years of screaming the house down in constant, never ending extreme pain.. As you call it, a miracle, I thought of mine as if I'd hit a pain plateau. Out of nowhere, everything just seemed to stop hurting, and while I do "not" recommend this for anyone else to try, I actually went hiking 5 miles while carrying a rucksack weighing 10kg - 17kg three times in eight days! And I'd been told Dec 2018 by my GP that I was lucky I wasn't paralysed, and others had told me I'd never be able to go hiking again.

Though my recent hiking days were limited, for other reasons, at least I now know it may be possible to go again at some point, just as you may very well lose the pain in your knee again.

As for your knee, before it does get worse, do contact your GP, ask him or her that if they are referring you to a specialist, that it be 'expadited' . This means that when your GP refers you, you'll be listed as urgent rather than routine, and be seen much sooner.
