Good morning Babano3, thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry to hear you are having a difficult time with your knees. The CDC has recommended being and staying active for those who have been diagnosed with arthritis, gout and lupus to name a few. Here is an article you may be interested in (oaaction.unc.edu/2017/05/cd.... We also have the Walk With Ease program which coaches you over the next 8 weeks on getting out and being active. You can receive a free book if you complete the survey featured at oaaction.unc.edu/resource-l.... Tell what you think. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thankyou, I do a lot of work with Physiotherapy, but at the moment the pain is to much to bare! I can’t hardly Stand up because of the pain ‘ I am doing everything possible at home (adaptations in the home with my OT, and as using my walking aid but at the moment the pain is to much to even use the aid ! As I also have problems with my right hip joint (waiting to see about hip replacement but Doctors said because of my age I would need another hip replacement in 10 yrs ! But I can cope with the hip grinding rubbing etc pain (of 5/6yrs) but my knees have me to point where it’s flairin up the rest of my joints because of over using them due to knees, Thankyou for your reply x

Don't know where you live, but I would change my GP, or at least get a 2nd opinion. As far as exercise being helpful, when the pain is that bad, exercise is impossible. I know because I have been there. In the meantime, try topicals or pain patches, they might help and they do not hurt your kidneys. It appalls me that your dr. "put my ant-inflammatorys up". You could end up with serious kidney damage.

I'm sorry for your pain but also depressed by it! I'm just starting on this route of clicking and grinding knees but so far can still walk lots of kms. It hurts when they're bent from sitting down (need manipulating to stand / straighten).

I'm not sure I can offer more than sympathy .... I lost weight before it even kicked in (4st / 25kg) and walk lots, do pilates, swim ... and I've still got it (bugger!).

I can't take anti-inflamatories either as they clash with other medication - so just tramadol/paracetamol. The only thing I would say is that stretching first thing and getting everything moving certainly helps during the day - but you obviously already know that!

If you DO find anything helpful please let us know!!! :)

I have had OA with both knees, but not bone on bone. This is August 28, 2019 and I had HA injection series of three injections on January 30, 2019, and the right knee is still pain free. Had the series on the left knee on May 10, 2019 and that knee is still pain free. HA injections do work for me.
