Thanks Sylvi - here in Orkney it's raging and sleeting and this is the quietest time according to the forecast. Dreading tonight when OH is on a nightshift and it'll just be me, the boys, the dog and storm force winds and snow 90mph+ :-0 Tilda x

Hi Sylvi and Tilda. Down here in Norfolk, it is blowing a gale and has been for 2 days and so cold. We have trees and other bits down and driving through it last night was very scary. Chucking it down with rain as well. We have also had flood warnings out along the coast and the sea did come over last weekend.

No snow yet but forecast for the next few days. We were cut off last winter and the one before until the ploughs got through although our local farmer got out his tractor and plough and went through the village with it.

So Tilda, keep warm and cosy indoors and batten down the hatches. Don't forget to have a lovely cup of hot chocolate as well - that always warms me up!

Best wishes. LavendarLady x

It looks like gales, but i don't think there will be any snow,i have tv on so as soon they broadcast it i will tell you.

A lot of people are without electricity in the north of the country. Its raining stair rods here in the midlands. Its going to be a cold morning in cold, fresh and sunny,no rain thank goodness.

Hello from sunny Scotland. My grandsons school was closed at midday so he was quite excited to have an extra afternoon with his friend. Big lego games. People were told to stay inside and seeing big bits of hoarding blown across leith walk was rather alarming. The wind was quite alarming, but we do have it so much easier here than in the west or far north. I do hope tildas ok

It was pretty much a hurricane! Had to think about what to do in a hurricane like prepare for a power cut. Power up iPad, candles, and I inadvertently bought a windup storm lamp when I tried to put it on my amazon wish list.

But we're still here and haven't blown away

Glad to hear your safe and sound. The weather is going to be cold and icy all over the country, your going to get more snow up your end of the country. It is going to be quieter here in the midlands. Where ever you are tomorrow its going to be icy cold.

Take care sylvi. xx

strange weather in aberdeen throughout the day yesterday, wind and sleet then blue sky periods, though the evening saw horrendous winds. the glass in my patio doors seemed/was moving in and out! Eeek was glad when it was bedtime, though before I could snuggle down the power went so no electric blanket instead pyjamas, bedjacket and dressing gown. And I never realised how useful that funny little wind up torch I bought in lidl would be.

Those hard working electricity guys got us up and running about half an hour ago.hurrah.

Last new years eve we had a power cut and my family were glad that i am into candles. We had a lovely time with all the candles lit. was cosy and one of the best new years we have had.

You take care.
