Hi i am on metho and infliximab (Remicade) should I avoid my grandson who has been diagnosed with Mumps
Mumps should I avoid: Hi i am on metho and infliximab... - NRAS
Mumps should I avoid
I have posted an answer once but it has not registered which seems to be happening a lot today,
Anyway, to try and answer your ?. If you are a man who has never had mumps then avoid the mumpy child as mumps in an adult male is no joke. You may not catch it but not worth the risk and being on mtx and inflximab means your resistance is much lower.
If a female, not so much a no no but with a compromised immune system, perhaps best to stay at arms length. A lot will depend on whether you had it as a child. You can catch it again as an adult but usually much milder. Personally, I would stay away until child is no longer infectious.
Hope that helps. LavendarLady x
Hi thanks Lavendarlady
Yes i am a male and I can't remember if I had as a child ,to long ago so I think avoid him for a few days

Avoid mumps, can be quite serious, wondering why child has'nt been vacinated with MMR.
Take care, Gina.
Mumps can be very serious in adult male as certain male bits become affected!
Yes avoid completely as everyone says Paul - my dad had mumps shortly after I was born and got terribly ill and was in excruciating pain so not worth even thinking of. My mum blamed his mumps on the fact they then went on to have two profoundly deaf children after me so it really is very painful and serious matter for men - especially ones on drugs which reduce immunity so much.
