I have seropositive RA, Bronchiectasis and heart disease. My lungs are already inflamed most of the time and sats are 93 at best. I live alone, but there is a connecting door to my daughter, son in law and grandson(21) They all work and so are out and about. Also, in the Mall where they work a colleague has a husband in ICU with the bug. They are disinfecting like mad in the Mall. if I get it then it will probably be curtains! and hospital is a bad place for me to be. In 2015 I had a heart stent and caught pseudomonas in hospital which took 18 months to get rid of, I was very ill.
I have banned them from my house.
Lisa washes her uniform every day as soon as she has come in.
I have banned all in my house, but am having a tea party in garden with 2 mates who also have health conditions. We can walk to each other's houses.
I am scared of going to shops and worried about going to my dancing class, book club etc:
Is this the best thing to do? isolation will impact on us as we keep each other happy.
All the best to all out there and stay safe virtual hugs

I’m really hoping the government releases some advice and guidance, for everyone suffering with under lying health conditions in the next few days 🙏 My opinion is that we have been very slow to react but good to hear we will be getting daily updates now.. reassurance is what we all need at the moment.. we have never experienced anything like this before . My advice would be to isolate as much as you can other but I’m no medical expert..I’m only making essential trips out and trying to keep myself well. Stay well xx
Thanks. Yes, that is what I am doing. My point is that there are thousands of young healthy people out there who will not feel too bad and we could pick it up. I am being careful! Take care too. x
Oh yes, I absolutely agree with you and every time I’m saying this, I’m getting my head bitten off not on here but in general !! The problem is there’s only general advice, some saying cough and a fever, others saying people could actually be symptom free. Nothing we can do other than try to protect ourselves and use common sense, viruses can not always be text book..until hopefully we get clearer guidelines.
You're not on your own having your head bitten off...it's been happening to me for a couple of weeks and still is, though to a far lesser extent. Some people really do need to wake up, including membersof the government. Good to hear that we are going to be given daily updates by them even though it should have happened much earlier.
I suppose it’s getting the balance right..between mass hysteria and common sense. I’m seeing so many people saying their mental Heath is being affected. We need to wait for the facts, switch off the media and unplugged for a while just need to follow my advice! 😂 but starting now and only reading reports from people I respects and reputable sources!
Sorting the wheat from the chaff is not easy with all the contradictory advice both from government and the media. This is why I'm glad to hear that the government will be giving daily updates providing they are honest and transparent that is....I just can't seem to stop the sceptic in me rearing its handsome head again!
I heard someone on today's BBC2 Politics programme I think it was, saying that the government plans/strategy to combat corona should be made known to all interested scientists and specialists in the epidemic/virus field, so they can make their own independant comments judgements known, and not just leave it to a handful to government scientists behind closed doors to decide what the best strategy is.. Seems to make a lot of sense to me, but what do I know!
I think you do need to be super careful. Sitting out in the garden a few feet away from others sounds sensible. It will be boring, but hopefully only for a while.
I've got the same plus kidney failure and I'd say why not just be very careful. Only you can make the decision but could you not see them in the fresh air? You just might need your daughter to look after you as this bug could come in with or without their help.
How do you get your groceries and what do you do if they get it, not respond?
I think this is a blooming hard decision so you have my sympathy.
yes, my friends and family can meet in my garden. If I get this my daughter will not be able to look after me as I will end up in hospital. My lungs are already bad. My groceries they can get for me or I will go online. They are young and healthy so should not be too ill. we can just cope one day at a time. Love to you and stay safe x
Yes, self isolate is the best practice to keep yourself safe. Best wishes for you. I hope you can read, or sew, or do something to entertain. Skype/FT with your family, even those next door. Hugs to you. We are all here for each other. ❤️
Thanks. I have lots of hobbies. My garden will look like the Chelsea flower show this year! I can order online. I read, sew, bake, research lots on websites, so will keep busy. Love to you and stay safe x
