i was just informed this was a british health web site...so being a yank i thought id ask what research the brits are doing for arthritis?thanks..

There are americans who are members of this site,so who told you that they are misinformed. I can't answer your question,but by your question i feel you have ranas well. You need to address your query to the helpline i'm sure they will tell you what you need to know. There is always research going here.

There's a UK based organisation that concentrates on research, called Arthiritis Research! It's at arthritisresearchuk.org/ They run rather a large research programme so best to look at their own website.

Hi Coonsanders

Thought it might be helpful if I clarify. HealthUnlocked is available internationally, and has a lot of members from the US, and some from other parts of the world.

However, this particular RA section on HealthUnlocked is run in partnership with the organisation that I work for, which is NRAS (National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society). We are a UK-based charity and all of the information that we produce is based on the UK processes, so because this section is in partnership with us the majority of users do live in the UK. This is worth bearing in mind when discussing things like drugs, insurance, benefits etc, as the health service in the UK is very different.

Having said that, we welcome all users to this site, and hope that those in the US will benefit just as much from help and support, and certainly the issues surrounding symptoms, side-effects and living with this condition will be very useful.

As helixhelix said, Arthritis Research Uk are the main research charity here, while NRAS deal with help, support, campaigning etc.
