Compression gloves......

Occupational therapist is amazing- I did not really need to explain anything, she understood my difficulties better than I do and so won me over very quickly. I was so reluctant to go as I do not see myself as an invalid, yes I have difficulties in doing many things that six months ago would never have even thought about, but I have adapted, used my teeth more, handed to others when they are about, used door jams and scissors, taken longer or a different way and sometimes simply laughed, and cried, and left it for another day although sitting with my marigolds cos i could not get them off, on watching TV must have been hilarious. Anyway, my post is about compression gloves, nothing to look at except skin coloured gloves, seams on the outside and a struggle to get on, to be worn at night, so first night don them as I snuggle down in bed for the night, and within an hour or so knees and feet and elbows are just so so painful, and then I realised my hands and wrists were not. Just thought my RA was not so active tonight in my hands, wakened in the morning, my fingers are actually working and my wrists look normal, ok maybe these gloves that make my hands look like fake mannequin hands, are really doing something. So I have worn for a five nights now and I truly believe they are helping- so grateful to my OT............am wondering if she now recommend, gloves for my elbows, knees, feet and each of my toes, now what a sight that would be. So if any of you get the chance to wear these, try them, for me they are working just now and to me that makes them worth their weight in gold

Hi Scouser, I felt exactly the same about the gloves. Yes I drive alot and have found that wearing my leather gloves has made a difference but I did wonder yesterday if putting the compression gloves under my leather would be of help albeit a little warm. Will try next time I drive although the way I feel today that may just have to wait till tomorrow. Hope today is a good day for you

Hi there,

These gloves sound interesting, where can I get a pair? Also how did you get to occupational health?

I bought some online - Imax I think they are called but would have to check that. Mine are grey and ends of fingers are cut off and I need some new ones because I just about live in them now. They are fantastic! Tilda x
