hi has anyone had pains when breathing in when you are in bed and cant get to sleeptossing an turning this only happens when i take my mtx 15 mg has the day goes by this wares off just wandering about my lungs been on mtx for 4 months now and i have had 2 steroid injec thanks karl

Have you mentioned this to your medical team? If not I would do so just in case you are reacting to the drug.

I would still see your doctor - preferably after taking your weekly dose - and check that it's not a serious reaction. It does say to see your doctor if you experience breathing difficulties. Tilda

Definitely report this to your doctor. MTX can cause serious lung complications, and that would need to be checked out.

Don't panic about it though, because thats a rare complication, and probably wouldn't just be lasting a day, it would be more permanent.

I would urge you to talk to your doctor. I too had breathing problems and had to be taken off MTX.I got very breathless after a few steps and it was discovered I had pneumonitis., a well documented but rare side effect.Don't worry, it's probably nothing, but do get it checked out.

As everyone else has said, you need to make your GP, rheumatologist or rheumatology nurse aware of this as soon as possible, as MTX can effect your lungs, and they may need you to stop the drug until they can check this out.

hi been on mtx 4 years 25mg inj last 2 years some shortage of breath at first ok now had some bad flu like symtoms first year or so & flare ups but ok now except bad rash dont get to much sun drink plenty of water you should have a flew & pneumonia jab try not to worry things will improve anglia
