good , thanks for the tip Axx
thanks on this may be worth watching if it starts of with sprayed food
I read the article about this is the paper but was not sure if it actually meant that RA was being discussed this week, so I have put it on record for the whole series. Very good advice Allanah, will watch out for that.
thanks will take a look,:)x
Appriciate that the advice given in the programme may not be accurate but having been in hospital twice in two years with serious infections relating to RA I have little alternative other than to look at diet etc. The volunteers comment was a bit sceptical that the information provided may not be accurate (which I agree with)but I have little alternative to at least to look and I feel that NRAS should e-mail all members of the programme and discuss the various points made and comment.
Hi Kenw
Sorry I didn't mean to sound sceptical!! I too am looking forward to the programme and hoping that it is of real benefit to all of us. But I know when I was first diagnosed if someone said run round the house three times with ur eyes closed and it will help your RA I would have done it.!!
So in my defence!! It was meant to be a word of caution for those who haven't been on this site when we get the occasional " buy this wonder product " or do this thing now without checking with their health professionals. lol!
I'm sure it will be a very good and trustworthy programme and I agree with you on
Us all having a debate on the suggestions on the programme.

Hi all
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Hopefully some of us here will have the opportunity to watch the programme. We would not feel happy to email all members about the programme as we would not like to recommend anything we have not seen or been involved in at all, but hopefully it will stimulate interest in RA and debate in this area.
If you haven't already read our articles on diet and RA, they are available on the website:

Thanks for flagging this up cazh.
I really do hope it's a "sensible" programme, which recognises that, whilst healthy eating can help with our health generally, RA canot be managed without the meds . I hope too that it doesn't trivialise RA - it's hard enough trying to get people to understand as it is. I will be watching with interest.
Thanks again.
Tillyx
Oh dear, looking 4ward to programme - Dreading the texts n phone calls from "Get yourself well!" wishers telling me "If I eat 'this' I'll be well again".
Yours dreadingly, J xx
The Food Hospital episode about RA is tomorrow. Here's some info on the case they will cover:
Backstory:
Rheumatoid arthritis is most common in older people, but it can affect people of any age. Beth has had swollen joints since she was 14. Now 29, she has had to have both knees, both hips and an elbow replaced because of the damage the condition has done to her joints.
Her condition means she has to live with her parents as she can’t even button up her own clothes. Having rheumatoid arthritis severely impacts Beth’s social life – although her friends are supportive she worries about when to tell dates about it as there are so many things she can’t do.
Beth’s story will feature in Episode 1, on Wednesday 19th September at 8pm.
I will watch with interest about the dietary recommendations they make. I think from the case they have chosen to represent the disease they will not be trivualising the damaging effect of RA in anyway. Hopefully it will inform and educate people.
