They just about to show a man who says he has cured his own RA, docs are about to examine his ideas
Channel 4 : They just about to show a man who says he... - NRAS
Channel 4
Oh well an emphatic don't do it from their docs!
Shame I wanted them to say yeah do this and it will help, would love a magic drink or potion! Wishful thinking x
They didnt seem very impressed, I agree it would be wonderful if they found a magic potion, I get the bathing in salt water but drinking it...we are always being told to cut back on salt x
Ye think he was having too many salts and minerals too ! Well hope the scientists keep working on it !
Hello BOB here
Was that the one who was drinking His own WEE???
BOB
No he was trying to cure his asthma, again it didn't stand up to investigation. The RA guy used Himalayas salt but they were very opposed to his methods as could cause kidney failure!
Yep saw it and I guess back to the drawing board!
Hope it involves chocolate though ! I would love the false headline chocolate cures RA so eat as much as possible or bathe in it lol ( actually I hate chocolate, don't know why I used that, start again, eat as many cheese omelettes as possible lol. ) !!
Allanah, I love the idea of a chocolate cure! Add in crisps as well and I will be in Heaven! Clemmie
Definitely cheese and onion, although sour cream and chives is good too.!
Clemmie
this made me lol so funny if only that would happen hope everyone is well michelle :)) x
Did not see the show, I will try to see if it's available on catchup. I have been on a gluten free diet since the begining of October and am now pain free for over two weeks. I'm also feeling less tired than usual. I usually have to wear wrist splints two or three days per week and stretchy bandages on my arms.
The usual question lol, is it the diet or drugs. ! Lol, hoe it is the for you xx
I was found to be coeliac after 50 years of illness. Could not walk at all for 14 years and it was cos milk. I could walk again within 36 hours of coming off dairy. This was in 1995. Diet can help of course with any illness. Trouble is what suits or not suits one does not work on someone else. We are all different and so are our immune systems and the more I have learnt of medicine the more I cannot poo pah anyone's findings. If you find you might be allergic to anything. Using 'allergic' in its widest sense. Best thing is to come off it for two weeks, try it and see if it makes a difference. If it does then take action. The trouble with this is not to come off so many foods that you make yourself ill with that. Everyone needs nutriments. I can't have wheat, rye, gluten, dairy, alcohol, nuts, herbs, spices, banana, pineapple, salicylates, and so on but I have learnt to balance my foods and make sure I eat a good plain diet. This suits me but it may not suit anyone else in this island home of ours [UK]. If in doubt see a dietician or well qualified nutritionist. Hope I have helped anyone.
I did a diet only once for two years to all the allergic reactions against foods I had for Psoriasis, it gave me a very limited diet and only made my skin a little bit better for a short time before arriving back with a vengeance. I was able to have goats milk but not other dairy products. If you read the labels of foods the amount of lactose (milk), is incredible, you find it in all sorts that you would not think it would be in. My main exemptions were, diary in all forms apart from Goats milk, tomatoes, starch, vinegar, citrus, salt, onions.
As it did not work on the skin which it was supposed to do,I just lost loads of weight, too low, I ditched the diet and eat foods in moderation now. The side effects of this it sent my metabolism to pot and I put on weight and have trouble trying to get it off now. More so since not being able to walk much.
Lactose is on the outside of almost 100% of pills not made as capsules. NHS have to pay gallons for my thyrosine to be made without this. As I said diets cannot be made for all when our immune systems are so different. Psoriasis is unable to be controlled using complementary medicine and the docs have no sure cure for it yet as far as I am aware. May 2014 be better for all of us. I am convinced the 13 is the cause of many problems. Including my husband big C in his nose and undercarriage.
Thank you Skeggy. Your story is astounding. I am going to continue with this diet but I am still eating chicken, turkey, occasional red meat and dairy...milk and cheese etc. and friut and veg. I may even try coming off my methatrexate in a couple of months if all goes well.
Scouser, if at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again. That's what I am doing. I'm working on the theory that if stress exacerbates the RA and chocolate reduces stress then it's got to be good surely?
Trouble is that I watched embarrassing bodies last night on obese patients. Bit of an unpleasant reminder about the extra strain I'm putting on my joints by being overweight.
Hi Scouser, perhaps you needed the crisps as well! Clemmie
Would it mean no cheese and onion crisps! No gosh that sounds amazing and so glad it's helped you xx
Lolxx
Some cheese and onion crisps are gluten free (it's in the flavouring) my husband and one of my son's are coeliac (although I'm sure another son is too but he won't accept it so won't see the doctor! Clemmie
Gosh , this site is the the , doh no can't remember the word lol , oracle ?
I don't add salt to my food as it makes my arthritis bad.
his was a pink salt I'd never heard of.
