Well tomorrow is the big day for my ankle fusion operation and I don't know when I shall next be able to log onto this site as I still have no idea where I will be going to recuperate.
According to the info I have been given, I shall be on the ward for 2/3 days after which most people return home. For various reasons this is not going to be possible for me so the OT's are supposed to be finding me somewhere to go for respite/convalescence until I can begin to weight bear (6 weeks or so).
I have tried to persuade them that Spain would be a good idea but so far have had no response on that. Fingers crossed eh?
So - I have packed three different bags - one for a 2/3 days on the ward. One for 2 weeks staying wherever they happen to send me before next outpatient appointment. One for 4 weeks staying with relatives (if I get the go ahead to travel) until my 6 week cast removal appointment.
I have to confess, I'm pretty exhausted now and am looking forward to a good rest in hospital - bring it on!
Good luck for tomorrow. I guess you will be nervous. I will send you some Reiki by special thoughts. Sleep well tonight my friend. I will be thinking of you. Hope your recuperation brings you some welcome relief.
Good wishes and much love coming your way.
Carole
