nervous, worried etc etc.....

Ive been summoned! I have a medical test to attend on wednesday and to say im worried about what they will say is and understatement, especially with atos being so unreliable at the moment....My aim is to get back into full time work but until i get my RA and the meds under control i have no chance (consultant wants to start me on mtx injections but cant yet due to living arrangments), but what would a pen pusher sat in their cosy office know about a disease that come as quickly as a rain shower?!? It really gets me how ignorant some people can be, ive even had some of my own family slating me because apparently theres nothing wrong with me, so how can we expect a total stranger to understand? I asked my mum if she'd come with me but she cant get the time off work so i'll have to go it alone, and i'll put money on the fact that wednesday will be the only day my body decides to be 'normal'......

hope everyone is well

Max

HOpe all goes well for you. Make yorself as bad as can be beforehand. Walk the day before i know that sounds cruel, but if it gets the job done so be it... sylvi.xx

Remember to answer the questions in 'bad day mode'. Not necessarily how you might be feeling on that day (that's if it's a good day).

If you are worried that your body will be behaving more painfree on the day of the interview, if you can don't take any meds which would help the RA until after your appointment. Doing this may remind you of where you are hurting so it wouldn't be a lie and I agree with Sylvi push yourself the day before. (Even eat things which aggrevate your RA if you know of any, mine would be lemons !!)

Fingers crossed that it goes well for you.

Hi,

Keep a diary as well, then you can refer back to it when you go to your appointment. I totally agree people can be so ignorant about this desease, that's why this website is so important. I agree with the others above, go for a long walk the day before (don't push yourself too much though)

Hope things go well for you, big hug.

Alison

Thanks for the advice, i had planned to do quite a bit tomorrow but im having to drive myself there so dont want to do too much....At least its given a good forecast so i wont get wet!

I was thinking about it earlier and realised that ive actually forgotten what it feels like to be healthy. My friend runs a cafe so id called in for a brew with her while she finished up and she carried a stack of plates (prob about 4/5) past me and the first thing i asked her was "are those not heavy?". I seem to have got used to making more trips from kitchen to dining room without realising, and does anyone else cringe if someone else bangs their fingers?!?
