my thighs feel, and are, very swollen and numb but painul!!
they feel as if they are in a tight balloon.
I've just had a shower and sat in a shower chair in my cozzie while a carer assisted me.
I was running the shower on my thighs to ease them, I couldn't feel anything as they were numb. the carer was about to wash my her and put her hand under the shower, she shrieked in alarm at the temp of the water. luckily it didn't scald me, but it is bothering me. any advice is welcome. sandra.

Loss of sensation like this is potentially serious especially if it's over your whole body.
As a matter of routine either you or your carer need to check the water temperature before you go into the shower, in fact as far as your carer is concerned it could lead to a disciplinary if you decided to complain.
You need to get medical advice about loss of sensation as soon as poss.
Go to your GP ASAP. I had a similar problem some years ago and was diagnosed with DVT
Hi Sandra99b
As the others have mentioned it sounds as if this would be worth discussing with your GP. Any new or changing symptoms are always worth getting checked out especially if they are concerning you.
thanks to all.saw my gp , he checked for sensations "feel this?" all over, I could, said did right asking nhs direct - that's why it's there to settle your mind; just keep eye on it,
