Sorry to bore you all..bit of good news for me..for a change.Been to see surgeon and there is no operation needed. He has dismissed the 2nd guys diagnosis. The 7mm gallstone is nowhere near my cystic duct (like the 2nd guy said) OMG.
Thank goodness the guy I saw on Tuesday is one of the team that did my original.
He still thinks it was a severe side effect to the sulphsalazine that caused it all..as I am fine on MTX and Hydroxychloriquine so fingers crossed. Gentle hugs to all xxxxx

Hi Judy..thank you it is so scary with all these drugs..I am glad the top guy has over-ruled as he is very good. I cancelled a holiday because of the foreign guy told me not to go to far as I could need A+E :/ not impressed. Take care xxx
Hi...it certainly a weight off my mind..the surgeon sees lots of problems with RA drugs as he is an upper GI guy. It was his advice I took and cut out the Sulpha..and touch wood so far it has worked. Take care x
Well done Rockpool - as you may remember I've got gallstones so had been watching your experience with concern and think it's great you don't need the op - thank goodness for that 3rd opinion. Interesting it was all down to the Sulpha - having reacted badly to that drug myself I can well believe it might induce such a response. Glad the MTX and Hydroxy work well for you too - I'm fine now at the lower dose of MTX and if the RA creeps back then I am fine to try it by injection instead. Onwards and upwards go we! TTx
Hi Tilda..hope I didn't worry you.x Yes feel very relieved that the top man has decided that it was the sulph that caused it all..the gall stone is randomly in my abdomen cavity and nowhere near any duct..to think I cancelled a holiday as the 2nd guy told me not to go too far from an A+E :/. I am getting on not too bad on MTX and Doxy and feel the next day is worse than the MTX day. Inflammation has come down a little so long may that continue. I hope they leave me on the two. Fiona Take care xxx
Thanks Mary..nice to get good news for a change. I said I could have hugged the surgeon..he was lovely. Think I shocked his little entourage lol. Hope you are good?
Feet and fingers still sore, over the last couple of weeks I've had a painful ankle, something I haven't had before and get very tired quite quickly. Have my next appointment with consultant next week, so will see how that goes, hopefully will go to monthly blood monitoring as i have been two weekly since March,
Then we are off on holiday at the end of next week, looking forward to that, with a hubby who has Parkinson's we both need a good rest.
Ouch...hope that lessens for you for your holiday..are you off anywhere nice ? I am fortnightly too..it is very tying isn't it..feel like a pincushion. Let us know how you get on with the Rheumy. Have a lovely holiday too xxx
Will certainly let you know how it goes. We are going on a cruise, Turkey & Greece.
Pin cushion is certainly how I feel too, have been alternating arms just to give each one a rest lol.
Mary x
I'm sure he was delighted to be so adored Rockpool! I felt just the same when the gynae said he couldn't find the polyp GP had referred me for and as far as he he could see i was a "gynacologically healthy young woman" - I came skipping out of the hospital on cloud 9 I'm telling you and delighted in telling my handsome GP a few weeks later - who went quite red which was fun too! x
Ha ha ha...me too Tilda...Now that sounds a good one I think my face was a picture beaming coming out of the clinic..think I stopped smiling around teatime lol. Wonderful feeling. I am hoping that things are slowly becoming more positive..got the OT tomorrow..joy ;/
