This morning i went with other half so he could hand over all his stuff to l/spa railway station. I met his lady boss,she is very nice and easy to talk to. Hubby wanted to go early so he missed all his co-workers,this is not being mean,he hates having a fuss made of him. It was a pleasant trip over there between the showers. I went with him to give him moral support as he hates the idea of not working. The good thing we do get on very easily which is nice.
Just in case someone makes a comment about this being ra related,i am having a good day today. I had my gloves on all night and it seemed to help. I also slept well which always helps too. Yesterday was an awful day for me.
I had a lovely surprise when we got home,my next door neighbour brought me a present from m&s. She was in there and she saw a straw visor and she knew my had broken and she thought of me and brought it for me. Now that is such a nice thing to do isn't it and i will use it often if we get any sun.
I have just had my lunch,now hubby has retired we are trying to have our main meal at lunchtime instead of in the evening. We both benefit from it as food tastes better too and i enjoy it so much more. Our daughter does a lot of late shifts where she works so she benefits as well.

Hi Sylvie, my hubby & I took early retirement 5 years ago now and it's been the best time ever. Fortunately we had 2 years before my RA set in with a vengence but it's so nice to plan your days together and on rubbish days we watch a nice film to relax. My hubby is always working on some project or other but it's nice to be able to take time out together when you need to.

You seem to have a great relationship with your OH so I feel sure his retirement will bring plenty of happy days to you both.
I am glad some one reads and likes my ramblings, i'm never sure if i am too much for some. I wouldn't be able to cope with my disease if it wasn't for him. He is the one that keeps me going on,there are times when i am so down i can't go on and he is the one that brings me back to the living. Today has been a good one,i have walked round the block on my own for the first time. I know i have to rest and relax and do this thing called pacing.
There is an article in the papers today ref ; drinking and ra. It said if you drink three drinks a week it will halt the ra,i believe that to be fairly true as i stopped drinking 10yrs ago and a year later i developed ra. I am not having three drinks now after all this time.
I thank you all on mine and hubbys behalve for the good wishes he has recieved from you all.
Hope you both enjoy his retirement - just means more time in the garden & shopping lol.

Your new routine together sounds nice. My OH works from home a lot and it's hideous - it means that half the house is out of bounds to me, sort of, and this is a 2 bedroomed cottage. Plus when he's working he treats me like a colleague - making a shopping list requires a meeting. But otherwise he's great. Your hubby sounds like a lovely man too, what you said about him 'bringing you back to the land of the living' touched a chord. I hope he enjoys his retirement.
