I've had to give up driving very recently and am now 'moving on' to considering a scooter. Having looked on the internet I am more confused than ever! how on earth do you decide what's right for you?
thanks,

Try them out first. Test drive them at a mobility shop. What do you need from your scooter,do you want one that folds up and goes in a car. Do you want one to get about locally. You will need cover for it if you are using for local use. You can spend as little or as much as you like. The best advice is try them first. sylvi xx
Hi Sylvi x
thanks for the advice....I will go take a look; there are just so many on the market.
I need one to be able to get out and about...but not necessarily one that folds up as I don't have a car now; ideally it needs to be robust enough to be able to go over a bit of uneven ground when I take my dog out to the local park twice a day. I'm not sure what she will make of it though! thanks again Dorcas xx
Hi
I am new to this forum but can tell you about Scooters and walking dogs.
I have a Cadiz and love it. It starts at 4mph for walking the dogs or up
to 8 if a short smart trot is required.
I go all over the field tracks (if not that rutty) plus perfect on park
paths and grass. I have had solid tyres fitted as nothing worse
than flat tyres four fields from home!!! ( i have a question re tyres which
I will post another time)
Our friends walk with us with their dogs and both their dogs as pups
have been carried on my scooter to get them used to it plus of course
as pups they were not allowed to walk too far.
Should have mentioned full name, Shoprider Cadiz, sorry.
Not a problem gazelle!
I've found it..x can I ask... where did you order the solid tyres?
thanks dorcasx
Hi again
Pretty sure it was mobility pitstop, may be worth checking out
prices. Google mobility scooter tyres and compare.
I did have to get a garage to fit mine unlike with the normal
inner tube tryes, much too hard for us to do.
If ordering a new scooter you may get a choice.
It has made such a difference to my life, I carry water and a bowl
for the dogs, their rain coats, toys and even have a sealed bag for
bringing home the contents of the pooper scooper )
As for boot sales, I end up as the pit pony for my friend and often
my basket is laden with plants, great fun.
Enjoy!
