has anyone had spots on there face after taking hydroxychloroquine tablets

No but I've got them from taking Methotrexate tablets. TTx

i am also on methotrexate i have been on them now for about 2.5 years with no probs started hydrox about 6 months ago

I am using Humira injections and have recently discovered 3 or 4 red spots around my face...

Two sorts of rash had me stopping hydroxychloroquine - one like hives all over light exposed face and neck; the other little bleeding spots into the skin all up my legs - they are definitely not to be exposed to light).

I knew about the light sensitivity side effect and had used factor 30 (in February) but still had a problem. The bleeding into the skin was a new one and caused some excitement at the GP surgery (more blood tests and urine tests) but gradually settled once I was off the hydrochloroquine.

thanks oldtimer i have some on my back now to there aer a bit like acne but im a bit old for that

Raising this question has helped me thanks. I asked the GP whether I should try it as next line DMARD if MTX continues not to be enough and she replied that it is one of the worst DMARDs for reported side effects so maybe not for me! TT x

thats interesting Tilda my consultant was going to put me on steriods but i said no because of weight gain he then said he would put me on hydrox as it was safe makes you wonder do they realy know side affects of the drugs the prescribe

Posie - I think it's safer than the other DMARDs but that doesn't mean it has less side-effects because things like nausea and skin rashes aren't deemed as unsafe - just unpleasant! TTx

i know Tilda all of them have side effects it side effect is similar to methotrex
