HI all. I've been off my Benepali jab for nearly 3 weeks as I got an I infection and had antibiotics. Started my jab again last night. Anyone know how long it'll take to kick in again please. I'm hurting in a flare.

no one can know that as we all react differently to meds, fingers crossed it’s quickly for you. I’m just finishing antibiotics and have missed a couple so am hoping I don’t start flaring before I can restart 🤞🏻

Thanks kitty. Just hoping someone will say it kicked in fast for them after stopping. 🤞 I'm so tired and joints are hurting.

Hi Haz58

I’m now on Benepali and it started working quite quickly, a couple of weeks. However this is in conjunction with hydroxychloroquine.

Due to several infections, bruising and swelling at the injection area I now make my own plasters.

I cut up an antiseptic swab into a small square and place it onto a strip of medical tape then cover the injection site.

So far so good. After nearly a year. No swelling or infection.

I was off Benepali for 9 weeks following surgery with delayed healing. It started working again quite quickly. I was the same when I started it 7.5yr ago, from the first dose it reduced stiffness. On one occasion I missed 6 weeks, due to infections, restarted for 2 weeks, then infections returned and was off for a further 6 weeks. It worked quickly at settling things down again when I restarted. I was a nurse on a busy ward, full of infected patients, over winter and kept picking up infections from the patients. I ended up retiring months later due to other health reasons, and have never had further extended period off my biologic, except for surgery.

Thank you Runrig. I think it's started kicking in. I did it on Thursday. Just wish there was something I could take for the osteo too. This rain is playing havoc with it. 🙄 Ah well we can't have it all can we. X
