Hello peeps

Tested negative a day or two ago. My nasal passage is a bit congested. Is this normal?

Thanks

Yes according to my SIL. He was using sterile nasal rinses but had to see his GP and got antibiotics in the end for an infection.

I still had symptoms for a while after testing negative.

It is. Coronavirus and rhinovirus (the common cold virus) cause nasal congestion as they’re both upper respiratory tract infections so being bunged up after either is pretty much par for the course. Until your sinuses unblock themselves as you get free of the infection you may very well have some congestion.

You can help yourself by having a steam inhalation three or four times a day over the next day or two. That’ll loosen mucus and allow you to breathe more easily. You can buy over the counter stuff like Olbas Oil or Vicks Sinex to help but it’s cheaper by steam. If you’re still congested after another week go to your pharmacist who will advise you but hopefully you should be much better by then.

I'm just testing neg ( a few days ago) after my first ever covid. I still have a stuffy nose and a cough, and my post viral asthma has kicked in, like it does after a cold but worse. It's like coming out of a cold, and it's taking its time.

Thanks for sharing. How long did it take you to test negative?

Day 10, after 2 days ( 8/9) of a very pale test line. I had antivirals.

Molnuvirapir ( hope that's the right spelling). I got into the system the day I tested pos,via my gp surgery, and had the stuff next day. And felt a lot better within 24 hrs of my first dose.

I've been negative for about ten days and still wake up every day with rubbish at the back of my throat. It will pass I'm sure but it's taking it's time.
