Start Adalimumab next week!

Start this drug next week after 2 and a half years of shocking hell. I was still playing football 5 times a week at the start of 2022, when a pain in the bottom of my foot stopped me in my tracks (now it’s in both feet, ankles, shoulders and back). Got diagnosed with spondyloarthritis. Long story short, I can barely walk, sleep or live at the moment. Has affected my job, relationship and life. Have heard mixed reviews on this biologic and can only hope and prey it takes some pain/inflammation away!

Hope everyone had minimal side effects on this drug, I see it as my only choice.

There are other drugs! Fingers crossed for you.

As madmusiclover has said there’s lots of drugs out there it’s just a matter of trying them to find your one 🤞🏻 this one is it.

If you put Erelzi into the search box then all past posts about it will come up too.

I don’t really know a lot about biologic’s but have been reading bits on here to try and see reactions from them. It’s hard to see anything working when all the naproxen, methotrexate, celecoxib and so on have had 0 effect so far. But appreciate you both saying there’s more out there 🤞

Adulimumab was a game changer for me about 15 years ago, it was the first biologic I’d had after 20 years of other drugs before biologics were ‘invented’. I had no side effects and I was able to regain the ability to move almost pain free. As others have said it’s not the only choice, there are other biologics if Adulimumab doesn’t suit you. Good luck with it.

Hi,

I have been on Adalimumab for 4 months for Rheumatoid Arthritis. It has worked very well for me so far, no flares . My ankles, knees and fingers have all settled down. Back to walking 4 miles a day. No side effects. Hope it works for you.

I always focus on the benefits of my treatment and not the side effects. They are rarely as bad as the disease. There are only two types of side effects anyway. The ones you can live with and the ones you can't. Simples! 🙂

I hope you find a treatment that works best for you as soon as is possible. Good luck

Hi.

I was diagnosed 5 ish years ago and started adalimumab 3 years ago. Felt improvement within a few days of the first injection and after a couple of months had returned to my old self. I’ve not had any side effects from it (unlike the methotrexate that made me feel nauseous and caused hair loss) and not had any flare ups in any joints for 3 years. A real game changer for me … hope it works as well for you 🤞🤞

Hi there, I started adalimumab about six weeks ago. Too early for me to know if it's going to be of benefit yet, but am having absolutely minimal side effects which is great. Really hope it helps with your symptoms.
