covid and metratrexate

Hi all!!

So I have RA and I’m taking metratrexate so around 3 wks ago I had covid and have to stop the metratrexate and steroid tablets that had just been prescribed!.so I was told I couldn’t take my metratrexate or steroid pills until my covid test is negative as yesterday still showing positive although I’m feeling fine and back to normal!has anyone else been in this situation?

Yes it takes us longer to get over.Just keep testing and taking your pain relief.You will get there

Yes stay off it until it shows negative. Hope that happens soon for you.

Definitely stay off the Mtx but I stayed on the steroids. It could depend on how long you are on them whether you stop them or not but if you're on pred a long time you can't just stop taking them. Best to check with rheumy nurse.

I stayed off for 3 weeks then started up again, as RA started to kick in quiet badly. It might have taken longer to fight off COVID until the end, but I was happier. It's a balancing act which is probably personal to all of us. Best wishes.
