Rinvoq

I have been on rinvoq for 5 years it has worked well. Has anyone had problems on rinvoq and it stopped working? I am having hip groin pain lately and wondering if rinvoq isn't working anymore. Thanks

Hello

First of all I think you should talk to your RA team or GP. Pelvic area pain does not sound very much like RA, but whatever the cause, you deserve to be as pain free as possible.

Having said that, had a lot of treatments stop working at some point so it is worth checking unless your GP finds something else.

As you get older you are quite likely to develop osteo-arthritis especially in large joints like the hip. It's very tempting to blame everything we develop on the Rheumatoid Disease or the medication we're on. Common things happen commonly.

It may be nothing to do with your Rinvoq no longer working. Suspect you’re looking at osteoarthritis in your hip if you’re experiencing groin pain. It often happens if you’ve got RA as well but it’s not caused by it and it’s worth getting a referral from your GP to orthopaedics to check whether you’re heading for hip replacement.

Osteoarthritis can hit at any time, as Old timer points out, as you get older and it doesn’t help that you have an inflammatory disease as well. Don’t leave it too long before you see someone for a diagnosis. I’ve had RA for 34 years and have had both hips replaced after developing osteoarthritis and have never looked back. All best to you.
