at the risk of opening a can of worms… are Sciensus reliable?
I was surprised that just got a call from them wanting to arrange a delivery/training. Was in the car so postponed till Monday. My NHS Trust advised me I’d get a call when biologic treatments would start training would start. I explicitly said please don’t call this week as am not in the U.K. bit there you go, I get called and it was difficult to talk as I thought it would be.
Anyways are they reliable? My address is awkward to find for most delivery firms.
Are we obliged to use them? I wish I could pick up the items to be honest as would be less grief. Anyways just after opinions.

Always found them reliable and I stay in the middle of nowhere on a farm. Text to say when they will be arriving and let you know how many stops before you .
I have great service and live in a weird spot so gave them the what3words app position and here every time! Already booked in for my next deliver and now on their app so I can do stock takes too.
There isn’t a choice its the hospital who has the contract. I think they are hard work and un my case were unreliable but I complained to MP etc and since then it’s been ok. Not great but OK and I live in the sticks but with SAT NAV or what three words that is no problem. If Amazon know where I am then it really is not an issue so just be careful and keep. Records and hopefully all will be welll,
Very hit and miss for me unfortunately. Mostly miss, 2 week delay for last delivery. Luckily I had a lower dosage tablet that I could double up in the interim otherwise I would have been without for 2 weeks.
NRAS did a post a few days ago about the different organisations working together to put a statement out re their concerns about “home healthcare” services. This is what they meant I believe.
thanks for that…. Delivery firms are my big prob here in Herts. Amazon/DPD are the best whereas Evri are hugely stressful so will be interesting how Sciensus work out. As a starter they deliver in my area on Mondays and Wednesday. I work Mon—Weds.
I have always found them reliable and very very helpful. Sciensus have an app which is also very good. They are always easy to reach and very helpful and reassuring. I am so glad Biologics are delivered through them and not through pharmacy or GP.
I’ve always found them ok, only had 1 delivery not arrive in 6yrs. I think it depends where you are in the country as some areas are better than others. I get an update on the day, telling me when I’m next. You can’t choose who delivers, it’s a contract between the hospital and provider. You can set up to have them delivered to your work, or have someone else in the home abkk look s to accept. But that needs setting up in advance.
I had issues with them initially. I complained to their CEO, no problems since then. I do believe they are working hard to improve customer experience.
some people struggle to get deliveries from them but I have been getting deliveries for years ( previously HCH) and only had 1 problem. I have downloaded the app and when prompted tell them my stock levels and accept the delivery date.I get updates when the driver is on the way too. They found my place of work on a farm!
we have used them for 5 years for my daughters biologics. She was 16 when she started them and I still remember the lovely nurse who turned up to explain how to use them. Now I like to moan about a lot of things 😂 but I don’t have anything bad to say about this company. We too live in a difficult to find place but they have never missed a delivery! Good luck 🤞
My daughter was diagnosed with RA since she was 17 she is 31 this week and has been mostly on Enbrel but now having to add MTX to keep functioning! I feel so sad to see have to go to work and in this weather can be hard, but she is determined, could do with a few weeks rest, but job does not fit that! She is having problems with Ovarian Dermoid Cysts since 2015 and will be having her second op to remove them maybe this year, depending on sizing! She longs to have a baby too. With meds this has to be worked out carefully. Good luck to all out there who struggle everyday with these terrible illnesses. All everyone wants to do is have a peacefully happy life! I feel very much for the youngsters who just want to go through life normally!
Screwed my order up by 7 weeks had my address and decided that I lived in Essex not Buckinghamshire, after 5 calls they changed it , what a useless system you shouldnt be allowed to change county when the postcode is valid, lodged an official complaint and got a written apology. I also had to complain about the courier not texting to let me know when he was going to deliver it, thats mandatory and a big fail in any company thats ISO 9000 registered, got a apology again and delivered on time, good luck.
Sorry to report I have had an awful and stressful experience with my deliveries over several years ... and have had much help along the way from PALS (patient liaison) at my hospital. And now, with very poor hand function following RA damage and major reconstructive surgery many years ago, I am bombarded by the company, trying to get me to use the App. Mobiles are fine for me to read texts but not great for me to use in other contexts. But this is just my experience ... I see some have been able to offer more positive feedback.
I was just saying that to my other half. How an earth do they expect people to use an app. It’s not very accessible is it - and doesn’t suit everyone due to the spectrum of issues affecting us.
I've been using them for just over a year and so far I've been satisfied with the actual delivery service. The people on the phones have been helpful too.
However I advise being organised when you're getting to the end of each batch of meds. If you're down to your last one or two doses and haven't heard from them, phone them. For the second time in a year I've simply not had another delivery and when I've chased it up, it turns out they were waiting for my prescription to be reviewed by Rheumatology. This might say more about rheumatology at my hospital (because that took 2 requests from Sciensus and one firm boot up the backside from me), but I'm pretty sure one or both of those parties should have dealt with this before I ran out of injections. Result - I've missed 2 doses. And I'm kicking myself for allowing it to happen a second time.
