antibiotic cover for deep clean hygienist (dentist)?

hi all!

The dentist recommended that I have a deep clean due to gum disease but he mentioned that I might need to have antibiotic cover before treatment due the RA,does anyone know if I will need to?

I’d confer with your rheumy, it may depend on which meds you are on and they will know you and be able to answer more than us here 😊

it’s very individual but I did have to a course of antibiotics

Did you need to stop the RA meds to use antibiotics?

Yes. It’s always advisable to stop them when taking antibiotics. Good luck

Take advice from your rheumatology team. It will very much depend on which medications you are taking and how well your disease is controlled.
