I’ve been in cimzia with few problems for nearly two years, but this winter I’m having quite bad sinus headaches frequently. Ranges from one-three flares daily. I think this is a side-effect of cimzia. I’ve tried to eliminate all other possible irritants (blowing heaters, caffeine, etc). Has anyone else experienced this? What comes next? DMARDs nearly killed me, and I really fear a change in meds, but I’m up to 1,200mg of ibuprofen daily, and that can’t continue indefinitely…Any related experiences will be interesting to hear! TIA

Cimzia and sinus headaches
My husband used to get awful sinus headaches and now he gets regular acupuncture which he swears by. Definitely helped. He isn't on any meds so might not be relevant to you. He's a farmer so if says it works has to be doing something.
Hi
I too have experienced this with Cimzia but having used other biologics and Jak inhibitors, I was told by a specialist that it is immuno-suppression that causes sinus problems in some people, and I have experienced the same on other biologics. I managed to get over mine mostly by regular sinus rinses using a net poti salt rinse, and a steroid nasal spray called Flixonase. I still have occasional sinus headaches and infections but increasingly less often. Suggest you see your doctor as you may have a serious sinus infection you may need antibiotics. Hope this helps.
Yes, very helpful! I am not keen on switching biologics but feared I might have to. If this is not directly related to cimzia specifically and there are other ways to deal with it, that’s great news. I will follow up with doctors; thanks for sharing!
Had a lot of sinus issues pre meds so think the RA has something to do with it also have it sometimes after methotrexate as others said nasal rinses nasal spray can help get checked out for infection also have a type of reflexology massage on face helps me.
I have not had any sinus issues with Cymzia, been on it over 2 years now. Hope you can get it sorted
