Hi folks
Just in case anyone fancies being involved in a research study. I tried to attach the poster but failed miserably so resorted to copy/paste of the information.
We are conducting a study to determine whether an antibody test result can predict who has the greatest risk of severe COVID-19 infection in clinically vulnerable patients.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to provide a blood sample on 4 different occasions over 12 months. This can either be in-person or performed remotely at home using a finger prick dried blood spot sample. This is to check for the presence of COVID-19 antibodies. The result will be returned to you.
For in-person visits we would ask additionally for a saliva sample and nasal swab. travel costs will be refunded up to a £25 limit per in-person visit.
You will be able to consent for this study by yourself using an electronic link.
If you are interested in taking part, please email STRAVINSKY@contacts.bham.ac.uk
or call us on 0121 371 5539
The lead, Prof Alex Richter, is lovely. I have had reason to see her in the past.
There is a webinar on Thursday evening with more information, the link to sign up for it is on this page: immunology.org/partnerships...
I've just been to the QE, Birmingham to do the in-person samples, oh joy! However, I hope it will be interesting for me and useful for them. They like samples pre-booster if possible (mine is booked for next Tuesday), otherwise they time them for post-booster with a bit of a lag.
