Hello,

Have someone ever tried to use ring splints to help alleviate joint pain?

I have seen some models online that looks much like the decorative rings but I don’t want to waste my money in such a things if someone that really have the experience don’t recommend it. (I’m not very confident about the comments in the sale pages) 😅

I have never tried them myself but I know a lot of people with hypermobility use them to stop their fingers moving beyond the normal range. You could try asking on an EDS or hypermobility forum

I’ve not tried them at all but why not try a cheap plastic one first (Amazon sell them and I’m sure other places too). If it helps alleviate symptoms then investigate a prettier more expensive one.

I used the cheap ones on Amazon … they were actually ok but I didn’t like not being able to bend my fingers at all . They did help when I was in a bad flare as my most painful joint got a rest I also put them side on for a while to “ encourage” my joints to bend the right way . I’m not sure I’d buy them again as they’re not comfortable enough to use as often as that would require

Hi. I have had these on my ring fingers as they dislocated quite often but they were always made for me and supplied by the OT attached to my rheumatology team so they knew they were the right size etc. Not sure I’d buy them from anywhere as you may be wasting your money before you know if you actually need them and whether they fit. Only my opinion though and you may find them on t’internet and have no problems.

I wear three recommended to me by my Rheumatology Department. I wear them so that my fingers will bend (as they should) so that I can hold a cup of tea, as I am likely to drop whatever I am holding as my fingers do not bend and hold the position I need them too.

Contact your Rheumy to see if you need them, mine are stainless steel. Great help if you need them. Take care.

I was given finger splints by my OT. I really don't think they help with pain, it's more to support underneath your middle finger joint to help it to bend.
