Hi all. After a great deal of thought, I am going for my 2nd Shingrix non live vaccine on friday. My concern now is for my brother and I hope you can help. As I said, my vaccine is on friday. My brother is having a cataract removal op on monday morning and he will be staying with us as I will be putting his drops in. As my shingles jab is not a live one, is there any chance of causing problems for my brother? I can change my jab appointment. Any thoughts please?

If it is convenient for you than just delay your second shingrix vaccine if it is still less than 6 month from the first injection, but don't miss it.
You would feel better as you would not experience side effects. I was reasonably fine but you never know. That would be my concern.
A non-live vaccine poses no risk to anyone you come into contact with - whether immune compromised or not. As Seasid says, you may have side effects that would be better delayed until after your brother has had his operation but if you feel that you'd be able to cope, there is no problem with taking the jab.
Agree totally with Gottarelax. No risk whatsoever to your brother or to anyone else.
