Well as title stated "what a year so far"Had my right cataract done in January, (meds stopped in December) day after my Birthday, so far so good. Went for left to be done on 31st March, cancelled as kit wasn't all there, great so had an idea it wouldn't be done before our Benidorm holiday, I coped. I then got covid, so that was a delay of 8 weeks, then a sleep apnea diagnosis so a further delay but went from date of diagnosis so delay was 3 weeks on top instead of 6 weeks, did happen on 28th June, yayy. Chased up my bladder Botox and long story short that's today. All this time no RA meds, it's only the strong painkillers that have kept me going. While all this going on my husband had a small stroke/infarction, he's OK but couldn't drive for 4 weeks, nearly there. Oh yes and next week go to Wrightington as left elbow due to be replaced and will be asking for a date as need to go back on meds, looks like it's going to be subcut Tocilizumab and have to wait until procedure is done.
Got my sons graduation coming up on 25th July, the one good thing about this year as there's been tears this year but this will be good tears.
Thankyou for reading this epic saga, I might go into hibernation after all this has passed ☺️

🤣🤣🤣 i so relate to this as sometimes it’s every time you peak your head up above the wall another curved ball is thrown. So yes many a year BUT also happy tears on graduation day! Keep dodging the curved balls if you can x
hope next half of year is completely the opposite and all good!
Curious about stopping meds for a cataract op. Is this what happens?? I will have to have mine done eventually but if I have to stop meds then I’m going to hang on as long as possible!
It was stopped for the cataract procedure but thought 2nd wouldn't be much longer but it ended up being 2weeks ago. Won't put me back on now though until after elbow replacement 🤔
Eyes are so delicate, glad I was put under and my vision is so much better. I will still need glasses for both reading and distance but cheaper and more lightweight is a win win xx
Thanks for the info. I have had a cataract for years but told it would never need removal. It now does and I have the start of one in the other eye. I have other eye issues which could be corrected at the same time but it is a worry.
You have certainly had a difficult time but your son's graduation will be a wonderful day and a very welcome distraction. I hope everything goes well from now on.
They don't normally do both together, it is a bit off the vision, I took the lens out 4 weeks before the 2nd cataract and was double vision at 1st but seemed to right itself xx
