hello everyone

Has anyone in the U.K. ever had professional assistance in completing a PIP form?

I tried a couple of years ago but was unsuccessful - I mustn’t have put enough into it but my RA is more limiting now and definitely need some help getting things done and getting around

You’re best to pay and subscribe to Benefits and work they have helped so many people.

I second Benefits and work, I used their guides when I first applied and got my reviews. I would also advise you start to look at the questions now and write things down in answer to the questions because you have a limited time to return the form once it arrives so that takes some of the pressure off completing it all at once. Good luck 🤞🏻

I paid for Fightback to help me some years ago for an Upper Tribunal Appeal. I used them again at my last PIP Review to check over my application before I submitted it. I also joined Benefits & Work and used their guides.

I wish I’d known about them both at the very start of things ☹️.

Benefits and Work guides are brilliant and well worth the annual subscription. Also for a bit extra you can enroll for their on line tutorials to help you complete your application. NRAS also has a good guide to help complete the forms. It is well worth putting in the time and effort to develop the knowledge and skills necessary before you apply. The forms weren’t designed to be easy for ordinary mortals.

that’s interesting about the online tutorials.

A benefits advisor at Citizens Advice Bureau helped me to fill mine out and I was awarded first time. They sent the forms off for me and would have helped with any appeals/tribunal if necessary too.

Originally I had someone from the CAB help me. She was using the Benefits and Works guides! So I joined and have used their guides myself ever since.

Hi, I had a lady from Age Uk come out to me, she was trained how to fill out these forms, she was amazing. I was lucky to have a lovely young lady come out to me for my assessment and she was great too xx

Really good advice in an NRAS booklet on benefits that might help.
