Change of provider!

Yesterday I rang my provider -health at home to order my next prescription of Baricitinib. My consultant last week said finances were clear and prescription had been sent through.

Imagine my surprise to learn I was now talking to Sciensis and I had been removed from their account. When I asked why the operator was quite rude and said I would have been informed. I have not!

I asked who I was now with and she said probably Lloyds but she was not sure. Finally I asked for the phone number which she gave.

I rang Lloyds who said I was with them. She was lovely and said I should have been informed.

my prescription is now in the ether somewhere!

If I was very elderly or unwell I would be in state. As it is I have five days worth of tablets. Will keep you all informed 😖

In your position I'd be grateful it's not Sciensus. What a complete shower. Yes, you should have been informed. Your point about a more elderly or unwell patient is well observed. Dealing with these suppliers can be, and often is, a nightmare. I hope Lloyds are a more efficient company for you.

Thank you! The distribution place is ten miles up the road! If I thought it would help I would go ahead and sit in the carpark 🤩

Sciensus haven’t been H@H for quite a while now. Seems a bit strange in how it’s been done without your knowledge re changing meds providers, but glad you seem sorted out now. For me, it’s been Lloyd’s admins throwing spanners from the start of me dealing with them 7 months ago and it’s Sciensus who have improved for me in the last year but that could all change! Hopefully NRAS speaking soon with them will improve things for those of us who are Sciensus patients. 🙏🏻

It should not be this difficult to get your own prescription should it?

But sadly it often is. 😑 Let’s hope these companies strive to improve/give good service. It’s so stressful when you’ve got l all sorts of other medical things to manage.

You just know when a third party is involved in anything it will go wrong 😑

Yes, often when people put their fingerprint on it so to speak, even in the same organisation, it can get confusing. I understand some people are new to the job and are training but they could ask someone else instead of saying anything to get you off the phone! 🤨I was told .. Oh your script has broken down twice now and can’t be rebuilt online! I replied .. So am I expected to sit and become unwell without my medication? Reply .. I don’t know. It wasn’t anything to do with them not receiving my rheumy script either! Thankfully the person requested a manager to call me after my third call saying I need to ask a manager what’s going on. Argh. 😝

I hope that as med supplying companies know that NRAS are aware of patient difficulties/poor experiences that things improve and stay that way. 🙏🏻

when I was in the process of being diagnosed, the asthma nurse said, you have to build your own health service these days.

As time goes by I realise how true this is.

My husband, always tells me to shout at people. I’m dealing with.

He doesn’t seem to realise that I have to deal with these people on a long term basis.

When I am dealing with anyone on the phone,I make a note of what I need to say, then write in caps CALM RELAX.

I’m waiting for Nintendanib to arrive, been off it since January, due to issues over blood pressure.

They have doubled BP tablets this week, feel weary

I hope you get your tablets on time .

I’ve looked at the Guardian website tonight, there is a very interesting article about Sciensus.

It seems to confirm what people on the forms have reported.

I’m sorry,I don’t do links,

I looked it up and read it. Quite awful. I think they may want to change their name again to be rid of Sciensus bad publicity. 😑

Hope the link below works. Thanks for the heads up on this

I changed was from Sciensus to Lloyds last year when I changed from a biologic to Baricitinib. Although I didn’t have many issues with Sciensus, formerly Healthcare at Home, for me Lloyds are much better, and nicer to talk to.
