Abatacept supply issues.

I have been having problems getting my Abatacept delivery from Lloyds recently. Rheumatology hadn't renewed my prescription because I hadn't been reviewed so Lloyds told me they couldn't deliver till they received it. Rheumatology sent the prescription to them 2 weeks ago and so all should be well. However today I received this text from Lloyds and it appears there's a supply issue. Copy of text below. I had to get an emergency prescription and supply from the hospital pharmacy today. This is the 2nd time I have had to do this.

LPCH update: Due to a supply issue of Orencia Clickject until further notice your deliveries will be made every 4 weeks. NHS hospitals are aware of the situation. We will contact you to book your delivery as soon as possible. You will receive further information in the post.

Yes thank goodness. Fortunately, this time I haven't had to miss any doses. 🤞

It’s a worry with all this petrol madness.

Oh yes. I had to take my husband to the hospital for an appointment last Friday and only just had enough petrol to get there. I wasn't worried until I saw the queue at Tesco's!!! Just managed to get some before I had to pick him up 2 hours later. 🙄

It’s crazy. I’m glad you could get some. 🙏🏻

Oh gosh, pleased you managed to get some. Also on Abatacept and since lockdown 1 I’ve had mine delivered from Lloyds every 3 months. Hope they get things sorted. It feels like everything is going to pot at the moment.

Everything has been ok until recently but you're right everything does seem to be going to pot.

I got the same message about Abatacept. Last time this happened, they were very good and did deliver monthly. Hope it's the same this time. Always good to have a small reserve supply for these episodes.....if you have to miss a dose occasionally, for infection or something. Saves the panic.Fingers crossed it works out. Brexit!!!

I am having the same problem getting my benapali. I went on line to order a new supply and they said they haven’t received a prescription. I then phoned the hospital and they assured me that the prescription had been sent to Sciensus, my supplier. I phoned them and they said they still had not received a prescription from the hospital. I think I will give up and come off that medication as I so fed up with chasing one or the other. Anyway I hope you get your problem sorted quicker than I am.

It's like ping pong! I emailed the rheumatology doctor who prescribed the Abatacept to complain and that's how I got an emergency prescription. In your case neither seems to be accepting responsibility.

I have just received a 3 month supply of Benepali from Sciensus . Never had this problem. I hope you get it resolved

I’m struggling to get my next delivery of Tocilizumab from Lloyds. They are very difficult to communicate with.

I spoke with the Biologics nurse yesterday about other issues and told her of the problem. No idea what we can do, other than sit and wait. I am down to my one reserve after today's injection.

Lloyds delivered my tocilizumab last week but I was down to my last one.

I have been emailing them but it takes a few days before they respond.

I had the same message from Lloyds health care at home 2 days ago. It says they will deliver every 4 weeks currently. 🤞 x

I had that message ages ago. My next deliver is due on Friday, whether its 4 or 8 doses, I don't really mind, just need the delivery to be organised asap... Also would help if Lloyds answered their phone or replied to emails.

Oh god it’s a nightmare trying to get through to them. At least an hour on hold every time. They had my delivery date wrong & they sent usual text messages but it was not date that was arranged. Had to speak to them so had to keep trying. Mines due in 2 weeks time I think.

🤞eh? X

Yes I got the same text.Their service used to be really good and even got delivery booked in for me for 3mths in advance but now I am always having to ring them saying I have done my last injection.Takes lots of attempts to to get through to them on phone too.Lets hope we get these 4 weekly deliveries then else our health will be going backwards 😕🧐

Got the same text but luckily had just had a three month delivery two weeks ago. However between the hospital and Lloyds every other delivery has me chasing them and a delivery on the day or day before my injection (with no spares in the fridge if the don’t deliver).

Biofreak in reply to Tkat10

Not ideal is it? You shouldn't have to chase it.

Well I was signed up for a new med on 8th August went through all the tests etc etc I rang sciensus last week and they hadn’t heard of me and only have details from two years ago when I was taking baricitanib. My rheumatologist has emailed biologics nurse again saying my RA is extremely active and I need to start tofacitanib ASAP. Spoke to biologics nurse on Tuesday and still nothing. So who the hell am I supposed to contact now ?? It doesn’t help that the phone number listed for biologics nurse and also pharmacy who sort the prescription do not exist they’ve obviously changed the number and still using old consent forms 🤷‍♀️😳. Hope you get yours sorted and don’t have many more issues 🤞

Biofreak in reply to Leics

That's terrible! In your situation you can't afford to wait. I think I would try sciensus again and see if the biologics nurse has been in touch with them since you spoke to her.

Leics in reply to Biofreak

Yeah on my list to do today. ATM I have a antibiotic resistant chest infection so on another course of antibiotics so I know I won’t be able to start new meds until two weeks time if it clears it. But I will definitely need to at least have them so I can commence treatment ASAP lack of meds for almost two years is sooo taking it’s toll and the new treatment has a lot to work on haha.

It does make you nervous. I hope you get your supply. If you don't maybe you could ask the hospital rheumatology department for an emergency prescription as I did.
