Hello My name is Niyoz from Russia. I am writing this because a month ago my mother passed away due to the rheumatoid arthritis. Actually, she had ulcers in her mouth and stomach which caused by rheumatoid arthritis but whatever doctors did were useless. She suffered a lot and died because my mom’s mouth throat was full of ulcers so she could not breath properly and eat anything. But there is something deep inside me saying that doctors would save her life if they would apply right treatment… but they did not. Is there anyone who can tell me that was it possible to save her life in that moment if she was in London’s Hospital?

RA LAST STEP
Sorry can't help you. xx
i’m sorry about your mum, but most likely once she had got to that stage there would have been little that could have been done. Rheumatoid arthritis as you know is a very variable disease that can attack everything and anything in one’s body. So people with RA commonly can have severe problems with their digestive systems.
You don’t say how old your mum was, but is she was also over 60 then that can limit available treatments. And about 50% of elderly people with stomach ulcers that perforate will die - no matter what country they are in - and if that person also has rheumatoid arthritis then it’s worse.
Try not to dwell on this, but mourn your mum and try to get past any anger at her treatment.
So sorry for your loss. 💗
I’m afraid I have no medical knowledge so cannot answer your question directly, but just wanted to pass on my sympathies for the loss of your dear Mum.
Very sorry about the loss of your mother. Hard to know with regards to your question. Very sorry.
So sorry for your loss Niyoz. I feel sure the hospital would have done the best they can to treat your mum and save her life. I am not not medically qualified so can not comment on the severity of her condition but I can reassure you that the Doctors and nurses in the NHS treat everyone equally regardless of nationality or ethnicity.
no NHS. Russian hospital
sorry for misunderstanding Koroush. I am so sorry about your beloved mother. I don’t have any medical knowledge. Helixhelix ‘s reply above may help you understand a little more about how serious this disease is and with increasing age harder to treat symptoms like perforated ulcers.
I hope you find some reassurance and peace. The loss of a loved parent is devastating, I wish you all the best for the future.
adding my sympathy, and Im sure that doctors and nurses would have done their best to care for her
sorry to hear about your mother. Take care 🌺
So sorry for your loss, my deepest sympathy to you. 🌹
So very sorry for the loss of your dear mum, big hugs x
Oh Niyoz I can understand your feelings it’s hard loosing a parent & our mums are extremely special in our lives, that’s why the loss is so very hard. It’s early days & only time will help you come to terms with this fragile time in your life. You don’t mention where you mum was being treated, was it in your homeland or here in the uk? Hence your question of London hospital.. Deepest sympathy at this time, sending warmest love & thoughts to you 🙏🏻 ..
Sorry for your loss. your mother was very lucky to be treated by the NHS in London at no cost to you or her. Doctors and nurses give their utmost care when treating patients you can be assured by that. please don't look for fault that was not there, just be grateful for her care.
I am so sorry for your loss Niyoz. It’s quite natural to wonder whether more could have been done when someone passes away but I’m sure her doctors would have done all they could for her. Sadly sometimes all the treatment in the world can not save someone and it’s very hard to hear that. Thinking of you and hoping your happy memories of your mum will help you get through this tough time 🤗
Horrible experience for you, sorry about the loss of your mum.
Not sure why you're asking if treatment in London hospital would help in comparison to the treatment your mum got?
You haven't explained what treatment your mum was receiving? I'm not a health expert, so no idea what would have helped your mum.
RA is a very difficult condition to control being a blood system disorder and we respond very individually to our treatment.
Take a day at a time 🤗
Hi Niyoz. I am so sorry for your loss. No-one can say whether or not your mother could have been saved but I know she would have got the best treatment tney were able to give her given the circumstances. I hope you can find some comfort in that knowledge. x
I can't answer your queries but you have my sincere condolences. Take care.
Am really really sorry to hear about your Mam and I'm unable to answer your question sorry again 😘🙏
Dear Niyoz, we are very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Unfortunately we are not medically trained so unable to offer any comment on how care would have perhaps differed in the UK, but we hope that the doctors and nurses did everything they could for your mother during her time in hospital. Look after yourself during this difficult time. Kind regards, Rosie at NRAS
