Earache off topic !

I woke up in the night with earache, blooming painful all down left side into jaw. I thought I’d be lucky to see the GP this side of Christmas…. Anyway I’m 27th in Q for ring back so did the dreaded Econsult. To my shock the GP website said it had taken back administration in house, due to it causing operational difficulties in patient care. It took just a few minutes to complete not the usual 20 minutes which includes what colour are our eyes.! lol And off it went, in a few minutes it was acknowledged just after the reception rang asking me if I could get to the next village. To my amazement one of the new doctors “call me Donny” confirmed ear infection and did the prescription. Donny explained that there seems to be a lot of ear infections this winter along with the normal bugs doing the rounds. So it’s been a sofa day, and my husband is cooking tea. I’ve got the remote and a buzzing, rumbling in my left ear, which is red and puffy behind but Donny said this is a strong antibiotic and if no improvement by Wednesday come back and he’ll refer to ENT but if it gets worse or starts to leak go to A&E. I can’t remember when I last had an ear infection probably 30 years ago and it’s horrid.Even worse my husband whilst do the tidying up mentioned casually that hed been asked last week about a golfing holiday in Portugal in September. As if he’d just remembered when I can’t say no. lol

Our GP service covers 5 different surgeries but the most central one is used as an 'emergency' hub which can usually facilitate same day appointments if symptoms are deemed necessary to need one. My hubby had to use the service over Christmas period when he had bladder infection post bladder cancer op. Turned out to be pretty efficient and he even got a follow up phone call to ensure it was clearing up

Sorry to hear you’ve got earache and an infection ML. Donny sounds like he knew what he was doing and it’s nice to have that. Hope the infection clears up soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

That is impressive, we wouldn't be offered an appointment here for earache but go to a chemist to see the pharmacist.

I have had last week, sharp pain travelling between ear, throat and down the jaw.

Dentist said to come back if it continues and he will send me to hospital.
