Hi,

have been on Rinvoq approx 6 months. It has been great at reducing my back pain and when I had to come off it when taking antibiotics, there was a massive increase in pain so, it's definitely working.

I've had no side effects and take it with food and drink plenty water.

Best wishes

I was taking rinvoq for a year and had about 60% improvement of symptoms, when nothing else had worked for my RA. However, I fought recurrent UTI'S. On antibiotics you must stop your RA medication. My rheumatologist thought trying Humira may be a better option, not the case for me, it caused a terrible flare. I am currently in a clinical trial with my rheumatologist and have been switched to cimzia. So far (3 months) I have not seen any improvement. I follow up next month with my rheumatologist, I'm going to request going back to rinvoq.

Interesting about your UTIs...I've been taking rinvoq for 6 monhs or so during which time I've had 2 UTIs. Prior to rinvoq I was taking baricitinib for some 3+ years without a single UTI. I've just come out of hospital after being treated fot a UTI and since contacted rheumy to tell them the situation, including that I won't be taking any more rinvoq. It wasn't very effective anyway and not as good as baricitinib, which unfortunately was becoming less effective which is why I came off it.. Even then it wasn't far behind rinvoq, which is why I'm going to ask my consultant if I can go back on it, that's when he returns from leave in 2 weeks time.

Best add rhat I'm a male with a chronic bladder condition hence the UTIs.

SUSIEQUEST. YES IVE BEEN ON RINVOQ FOR ALMOST 2 YEAR NOW AND ITS WORKING BEAUTIFULLY. OVER THE YEARS I'VE TRIES MANY TREATMENTS ALSO THEY WOULD WORK BUT ONLY FOR MAYBE A LITTLE OVER A YEAR THEN IT WOULD STOP WORKING THEN I'D BE BACK ON PREDNISONE WHICH WAS WONDERFUL UNTIL I LOOKED INTO THE SIDE EFFECTS AND ALSO ALL THE WEIGHT I HAD PUT ON. I FELT AWFUL ALL THE EXTRA WEIGHT I HAD ACCUMULATED WHILE TAKING THE PREDNISONE. SO LONG STORY SHORT YES THE ONCE DAILY PILL OF RINVOQ IS WORKING JUST GREAT SO FAR. I TRY TO AVOID PREDNISONE AT ALL COSTS UNLESS I'M IN AWFUL HORRIBLE PAIN BUT ITS BEEN QUITE AWHILE SINCE I'VE HAD TO USE IT. SO YEAH GIVE IT A TRY WHO KNOWS IT MAY WORK GREAT FOR YOU. IT NEVER HURTS TO TRY. BUT GOOD LUCK AND I TRULY HOPE IT WORKS AS WELL FOR YOU AS IT DOES FOR ME...SENDING LOVE AND POSITIVE VIBES YOUR WAY. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY ALSO...XOXO

great post, thank you. I’m due to start taking upadacitinib after my gallbladder surgery next week. I really hope it is the one. I was on Bariticinib which worked well for a year and then filgotinib which put me in hospital with pneumonia . I’m hoping upadacitinib is the one for me. Thanks for the post it made me feel much more positive 😀
