New arthritis treatment

Have you heard about the new electronic implant that can be fitted in your neck that can improve our condition. It won't be properly used for 10 year, but I'm getting excited about it already. A lady in Amsterdam took part in the study and now she leads a normal life. All her pain and swelling disappeared in 6 weeks. :))))

Yes I felt like rushing off to Amsterdam shouting "try it on me please!" - especially as the rheumy professor in question had the most gorgeous deep voice! There are people with rheumatic conditions in the UK trialling it too - someone on Lupus UK HU is on this trial already. Even my GP was excited!

The programme about it was on BBC radio four a few weeks ago, called Frontiers, the Vagus Nerve. I put a link on Helix's post about inflammation and depression.

I work with children who have the same thing to prevent seizures. (Google VNS) I keep the same magnet that was on tv with me at all times.

Seems strange that one day I may be able to use it on me. I would be more than happy to give it a go.
