I have Chron's Disease as well as RA and have always continued taking MTX during flares...it is a treatment for both ailments. Five days is a long time to have diarrhoea so I would seek advice from the RA team or your GP just to be sure. Remember to keep drinking lots of water. Hope it clears up soon...it's so horrible. God Bless, Knip.

If the anti diarrhoea tablets do as they should then I’d continue taking your meds, you should be able to keep them in your system. I do agree with Knip though, 5 days of diarrhoea is a long time, if it was me I'd be seeking advice from my GP.

I agree with others I think it would be an idea to speak with your GP you may be dehydrated after such a long period of diarrhoea and might need medical assistance. It may well be that you’ve had or got a stomach bug and will need antibiotics ? I’m not medically trained but if it was me I’d be seeing my GP by now even if anti diarrhoea tablets were helping.

Yes Leics…you are right …my neighbour collapsed with dehydration …had no symptoms & was luckily found before she was harmed…but she was rushed to hospital by ambulance , stayed there for quite a few days….& three weeks later she is still wobbly.

Yeah dehydration can be a very bad thing. Better safe than sorry I say.

Hi Nellysgran, sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well at the moment. As none of us on the forum are medically trained, I can only echo what the other replies are saying and suggest you contact your GP or rheumatology team before stopping your medication.
