I have a Frio pouch I bought online that holds two pens. It keeps my biologic cool but not at a certain temperature, if it needs to be kept with a certain temp and you need ensure that then something else where the temp is more controllable with a temp reading would be the one to get.

Thanks. It doesn’t need to be at an exact temperature just cool but not frozen! Between degrees of 2 and 8 C. I’ll have a look for the pouch you mentioned.

Thanks

You can use benepali for up to 4 weeks out of the fridge,( not sure about other biologicals though) just don't let them get too warm.

They don't keep the drugs at fridge temperature though.

It’s good to know it kept it cool in very hot temperatures. I hope you had a good road trip! Thanks

Speak to whichever company fulfils your prescriptions for advice. It depends where you are travelling to and how long you are travelling for but most biologics are find out of the fridge for several weeks.

Secukinumab cannot be kept out of a fridge for more than a few days then must be used

In that case speak to them about what is a suitable way to store it when travelling. They should give you advice and may even be able to supply an appropriate cool bag and ice blocks.

That’s a good idea to contact the company that supplies. Thanks

I have the same medication. I bought the ICool Prestige which will keep medication between 2 & 8 degrees for up to 24 hours. The Frio pouches will not do this but are fine for keeping things cool. secukinumab needs to be be refrigerated, or can be used within 3or 4 days once removed from refrigeration. Worth doing a couple of test runs to make sure you are familiar with using the bag too

I was told take the Benapali out the fridge and put in your travel cool case but don’t try to cool it down again in fridge, leave room temp, not warm. And keep your injections in your hand luggage with a letter from your Rhuemotologist to say you have to be on it. Hope this helps x

I’d also recommend the medicool bags, they manage to maintain a temp between 2-8 degrees. Although some are mentioning leaving their Benepali out fir up to ; weeks, it depends where your going. It has to still be below 25 degrees out of the fridge for most biologics, which even a trip to Spain at the moment would exceed that. I’m able to continue refrigerating mine as it stays between 2-8 degrees. Enjoy your holiday 🤪

Thank you.

When out and about in uk when space is not an issue a small vacuum flask works well for some medications. Cool it in the fridge first and protect injectables with kitchen roll or cloth and use as required during the day.
