after avoiding the dreaded covid and 5 jabs It finally got me on a cruise nearly 2 weeks ago. I didn’t want to go because I was nervous but all the family were going so no pressure! I was feverish and temperature for two to three days with really bad chesty coughand am still positive after 11 days but feel much better. I didn’t take my 25mg dose of methotrexate and have missed a second dose as still positive. Have I done the right thing? Suffering now with aches and pains. Should I wait for negative test before restating meds?

It’s best to speak to your Rhuemy team , I tested positive, spoke to the Rhuemy nurse who was very insistent that I stopped the MTX So I would presume you cannot take them till you test negative and feel better 🤷♀️.
I dont take MTX any more , obviously the Rhuemy nurse didn’t know that , bit worrying 😂
I was advised to hold off MTX if I caught covid, till I tested negative. Personally I wouldn’t rusk a possible flare up of the covid. I understand being keen to take. I’m currently off my 25mg MTX as have s nasty wound infection and missed 2 doses. Also missed 2 doses end of June for uti that needed 2 courses of antibiotics, so my pains are from my head to my toes at the moment🤗
Your rheumy will be able to tell you what’s best for you regarding when you start your meds again. I caught covid the days after taking my meds so it was a bit late to not take it but I didn’t stop my mtx only my biologic after that but that’s because I flare quickly if I don’t take it. I started back after testing negative.
Like you I managed to avoid getting COVID until about 3 weeks ago and like you I saw the advice on here and stopped MTX while I was Positive. I then had a quick thought that I should check with Rhuemy helpline about when to start it again and the nurse said I needed to get bloods done before I did. I was quite surprised. She said that COVID can cause liver markers to be up and they need to check this is not the case before they give you the go ahead to take it. So, in the end had to wait a few more days to be given the all clear. Might be worth checking with Rheims department to see if they want to do the same?
Thanks for that. It’s not good when we all get different advice from our rheumatologists . It’s made me smile though that we seem to trust each other on here more than the doctors🤦♀️😂
I also got Covid like you in July, I wasn't too bad with it. Headache, slight sore throat, lathargic, also throwing up the first day. That heat didn't help at all. I was told to lay of biological and methotrexate for a week after being negative. I didn't have a flare up
When I caught covid in March was advised by the rheumatology nurse to not take mtx or lefluminode until I tested negative & felt better, missed nearly 3 weeks of medication & all joints started to play up 🙄
