Hi. Sorry if this has been discussed prior but if you are on immune suppressants can you stop get free covid tests? Also my husband is the main carer for his elderly father so we don't want to pass anyth8ng on to him.

I think anyone who is eligible for Covid treatments due to immune suppression can order a set of LFTs online. gov.uk/government/publicati...

A box landed on my doorstep last week unannounced. So I imagine yes

Hi, immune suppressed too and have had a box of LFT’s through the post recently and a PCR test kit - both unannounced and free 🥳

Yes, I've ordered them through the NHS website a couple of times - just tick that you're eligible.

Call 119, they will tell you…you will probably need your NHS Number

It depends whether you are in the “Highest risk” group, who are entitled to treatment if they get covid. Not all on immunosuppressants fall into the category. They also don’t issue to people visiting vulnerable, even if visiting care homes bizarrely. Anyone can tick the box online and get them, but you should check you are actually eligible, rather than giving false information which could land you in trouble. Check with 119 who will issue if you meet the criteria. Apparently the government intends to close this loophole

The problem is that it appears that eligibility for antivirals is unclear and is decided once you test positive. I've had a letter saying that I MIGHT be eligible but I'm sure that it's yet another postcode lottery and not everyone has had letters. Personally I don't feel that I'm giving false information by saying that I'm eligible for free lateral flow tests.

It is set nationally as to who is eligible, and set out clearly in this document as to who is eligible. The reason MIGHT comes into it, is that it also depends on your symptoms and if they are getting worse or improving, or if your asymptomatic then you would likely be refused. The other reason for MIGHT is that your medication may have changed from what they have recorded. Individual Trusts are expected to follow the national guidelines, and any that aren’t I would report to NHSE.

I got a box in post other day and I didn’t order any so I’d say yes lol
