Hoping you are all as well as you can be, in this continuing crazy time.
I developed a cough on Tuesday, and a temp and following a visit to a school last week, who had a couple of positive cases identified ( covid), I had to be tested. As I was told to self isolate immediately , I was sent a home testing kit.
I did the tea Thursday morning and it was collected early that morning by courier- now awaiting results.
God, it never rains, but it pours!!!

Just to let you know I am thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for a negative result. Let us know how you are and sending some of Pip's supportive wishes to you and hope you feel better soon, take care xx
Thank you so much pip. I have a cough and temp, feel a bit yucky , but that said, not particularly unwell so I’m hopeful it’s just a regular winter cough and work have just been over cautious insuring I be tested. X
Thank you. I’m sure all will be well - I think if what I have is covid- I’d be very unwell, and whilst not feeling brilliant, I’m not very unwell. So, I remain hopeful x
Hopefully you haven't got Covid but equally, you may be someone who has it relatively mildly (I know several people who have and someone else who had flu recently and felt awful) so try to relax as much as you can and do all the usual things to help minimise the effects - something like paracetamol, lots of fluids and cosy relaxing with books, mags or feel-good TV 💊🍵🥛📚📺💐
Me too. I don’t have a cold- headache I can’t shift, cough , temp and a bit tired - barring the cough, it could’ve been any flare! But I do think the cough is your big standard winter cough. Hoping to get results today and back to work Monday - being a bit more careful in what I do and where I go x
I really hope it's negative - it must be a worry playing the waiting game. In the meantime, ginger tea (if you like it of course) and paracetamol to keep the temperature down. Take care, let us know how you get on. xx
To let you know Eiram50 I am thinking of you, sad to hear your feeling poorly. I so hope everything will be fine with negative Covid results. Wishing you well also speedy recovery xx
If you just feel a bit yucky, then perhaps a good outcome would be that it is covid - but the really gentle one that hangs around for a few days and then goes and leaves you immune?
But hope whatever it is, you don’t start to feel worse.
I sincerely hope that test comes back negative Marie... & you don't have any worsening symptoms in the meantime of course. Take it as a reminder we can't be too careful, which is fine as far as ourselves is concerned, but we've no control over others being equally vigilant have we?
I've just signed up for Imperial College London's/Ipsos MORI & DHSC COVID-19 testing research study, so we'll see what, if anything, comes of that. At least I’ll have played my part I suppose.
Whilst I am still coughing, I do not feel any worse, so genuinely believe it to be just a winter cough.
It’s nearly 72 hours since they picked my test up and I haven’t had any results as yet. I think the turnaround time is up to 48 hours, but I also believe their was a surge in people being tested this week.
I am not sure what this particular study involves, but well done you in signing up for it!
Hope you and your husband are keeping well and managing through these increasingly precarious times x
Keep taking the tablets! Shouldn't be long now before you receive your results, & hope it's negative for you, & the rest of your household of course.
The study just involves taking a swab, which is sent to you. This is then collected by a courier & around 7 days later you're informed of the result. You also complete a questionnaire which asks about you, your health & any COVID-19 related symptoms you may have had. The swab test results are then passed to Ipsos Mori & Imperial College London to link the info with the questionnaire.
Like most we're getting on with things. H is struggling more than me but he has his issues as you know. Thanks for asking & I hope you & the girls are ok, aside from your cold, which I've decided for you is what you have! x
