Have you contacted your rheumatology unit to see if they have a rapid access scheme to get seen if you are in alot of pain? Some people find TENs machines helpful for lower back pain .

Yes I rang them this morning , the nurse rang me back to say during lockdown we have all been a bit lazy !!! It’s likely It’s underused muscle or something . She says the clicking is normal - the pain I get with the clicking makes me feel queasy I am limping too .
She told me to look on verses arthritis and do some physio to strengthen my knee up via a physio site .
Hi there. I have the same problems and have been told it’s wear and tear. I have RA and OA. I have been given some Naproxen low dose to try and see if it helps. Also told to lose weight. Of course everyone is different. Have you spoke to your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something to help. I try and use my knees even when they hurt to try and build up the muscle . Good luck, hope you get some relief soon.
I haven’t been diagnosed with OA , I have suspected this but never mentioned it , about 10 years after a DEXA scan I was told I had oestopena .
I am moving around with a strap on , I had and still have back pain for weeks now GP did bloods with higher CRP Levels . So they were repeated and now come back ok .
I’m keeping notes on this to report back to my consultant . She last told me that if I needed her I know where she is ! Thing is bypassing the reception staff .
I’m doing all I can to reduce inflammation, I’ve been gluten free for over 2 years now . Has made a massive difference , I’ve been vegetarian since I was 3 .
I have several ainful and clicky joints, knees and lower back are the worst. I have OA along with RA. OA is believed to be the problem with the clicking (seen on x ray). I take between 125 - 150 mgs of voltarol a day (diclofenic acid) which helps greatly. But it sounds as if you do need to be seen and assessed properly.
Hi Mmrr
It just seems to have come on all of a sudden this clicking . Both knees at the same time it’s a strange one .
I had the odd episode of joints clicking but not like this . I moved my leg in bed this morning for it to snap
I’ll get to the root of it , in the meantime my other joints are not behaving …. I really do need to be seen .
Did your wrists snap and pop too ?
XxxxxX
My joints (hips, knees, ankles, toes, wrists, fingers, thumbs, neck) click and always have done. I also have a crunchy R knee* (*osteo apparently). Your GP can refer you to the physio for some knee strengthening exercises. I have a plethora of wrist splints including resting ones which need to be specially made (OT Rheumatologist referral). I have been told not to use knee supports but to exercise. I also have a knee raiser when it really hurts which works a treat (moulded pillow with a velcro strap).
Deep Heat works for me… also have piroxicam gel, but less effective.
