Just booked mine for Sunday. When i first tried to book on nhs site I didnt have my nhs no to hand. Went back on with that and have booked it. I havent the official letter but got the letter that mentions I am CEV and immunosuppressed and also my Rituximab card. Worse they can do is send me away.🤞
4th Vaccine: Just booked mine for Sunday. When i first... - NRAS
4th Vaccine
You'll be fine 🙂
They won’t send you away. I only ever got a couple of appointment letters the first twice I had Rtx and then just arranged it in the diary with the nurse and I used to email to confirm it 2 weeks before hand. Not the way I’d ever do it but the admin are hard pushed to send things out as the infusions clinic is not the same dept as the rheumy review letters which come from a central place. Anyhow it worked usually! If you show on your Rtx card you were immunosuppressed at the time of your earlier vaccines that’s what’s needed. Good luck but you’ll be fine. x
I've had all mine without a piece of paper, except the card with vaccine details. All mine have been arranged by my GP Surgery, appointment dates offered, accepted & I just turned up. Actually I did try to book my first one but it wouldn’t let me & why I contacted my Surgery for advice. I'm sure you'll be fine if I can turn up with nothing in hand. Hope all goes well.
That will do it. Similar to what I took along.
I've just been for my 4th jab 26/2/22 and it seemed no letter no jab, one chap tried to jump the que without a letter and was told he was not entitled to a jab, so good luck give it a try
Seems different everywhere…..will try 🤞
Had my 4th…no,probs. Just showed her my Biologic Alert Card and she knew all about it. Didnt give me a card this time but will b on my records. Happy Bunny😬
Well done Evie. 💗 Hope you are steady at the mo? I think I am re-starting my vaccines next week. Had a call from the GP admin who said the doc has received my Immunologist’s letter and she wants to book me in asap and start working thorough them from vaccines 1-4. I have to go to a different, bigger health centre in the same town centre where they’ve done the majority of vaccinations and take my copy letter when I go for the vaccine(s) from the Immunologist that my doc and I received last week. The admin lady will book my appointments for me so no need for me to do so via online. x
Great….are you still on no meds at the mo?
Rtx is still working for me 10 months since. (I’ve got 10mgs sub cut Mtx.) Rtx has always worked for a long time for me. I won’t start my new med until a full month after the first repeat vaccine. So that’s five weeks if I get vaccine 1 repeated next week, before I can start the new biologic. My nurse is aware of this and so is the rheumy. My Immunologist said to do it this way at the recommencing of the vaccination programme and confirmed it in his detailed letter to the GP/myself so that my immune will the best it can be to start the vaccines again. Any further vaccines after the first repeat, I’ll have to stop my biologic for that same week and another full week thereafter.
Thats a good plan. What biologic r u changing to then? I thought u wanted to stop ritux🤔.I am feeling less frightened on catching this variant now there is a plan in place for antivirals. Still being as careful as I can though.
Yes no more Rituximab. I won’t be repeating it. My last single infusion was end of April 2021 and that lasts 10-12 months for me usually. (Changing to Abatacept injections.)
Thank goodness u arent suffering. I was on those for many years pre Ritux. My cousin is on them too.
You were on Abatacept? Obviously you didn’t stay on it but sounds like you were for some time ... but it’s so different how we react to something .. or don’t! I think I could be feeling the tweaks in the joints soon as my B cells have started repopulating and increased since end December-end January, but I’m hoping I can get at least one vaccine done before I need to start Abatacept. I hope Abatacept continues to work well for your cousin.
Yes…it worked well for 9 years then waned. Between that and Ritux I was awful….had to use a wheelchair if we went out and zimmer indoors. Ritux has given me my life back and pleased that my Rheumatologist talked me out of coming off it, due to Covid. My cousin never stopped her injections when having the Vaccines and she is fine.
You will be fine. I just took a letter from the doctors saying that I had Rituximab and they accepted. I’m glad I had the vaccine as I got covid a months after the vaccine and the only symptoms I had was pain on my head, scratchy trout and a cough. Worthy doing the vaccine
Had my 4th now. Reassuring to know u didnt suffer too much. Thanks
Hello,, could I ask when you had your last retuximab please? I had my last infusions in December and unsure when to have my 4th vaccine.
I thought I would be fine as I booked my 4th jab (through the NHS site) at my chemist who know my medication (I also had my 3rd jab there). However…. They said they could not do it despite this, as they needed an ‘official letter’, and would be breaking the law with out it [despite the logic]. I had to contact my GP and they then booked for me. 111 were as much use as a chocolate fireguard… it was a drama, despite thinking I wouldn’t have any probs. Good luck!
Someone else on here had the same problems. I was lucky just showing my Alert/biologic treatment card.
I had mine this week at the pharmacy where I get my meds so they have a record anyway. When I booked through the NHS site I was asked to bring the letter saying I was eligible for a 3rd/ booster , plus either a prescription or the package from my biologic( Cimzia) I also took the letter from rheum to my GP which has info about my meds on it, and my vaccination card. A bit ott maybe 😁And guess what -they didn't ask to see any of it. Just took my word for it !!!
Typical…lol. Great u had no problem
