My knee surgeon phoned yesterday to inform me that he is retiring from the hospital. I've been on the surgery list for 7 months and prior to that had been on the surgeons recall list with an offloaded splint for 3 years.
He is passing me to the knee surgery specialist. My question is what do I do now? My knee is deteriorating now plus my walking pattern .

I am not sure but would imagaibe that you need do nothing. All your notes etc will have been passed on and you will still be in the same position. I would ask your GP if you want reassurance. Goid luck.
You won’t be required to do anything. When you have surgery is no longer under the control of the surgeons, but managed by the waiting list office. Your position won’t be changed. You may receive an appointment to give the new surgeon an opportunity to meet and assess you prior to going in for surgery. I wouldn’t worry, sounds like your in good hands. If concerned you could contact the waiting list office
The way things are at the moment, I would definitely contact the relevant department and ensure that you are on a list for the TKR. Best not left to others. Good luck.
